Ovi got another goal tonight. I hope for my fantasy teams sake that he is starting to heat up

So I was thinking about what I can do over spring break this year and I was looking at some hockey schedules. I want to go to the Stars/Wild game on the 13th of March, I get a student discount on tickets and can sit in the lower section with good seats for just $35 a ticket. Not bad.

So then I think, hey, the Jets are new to the NHL! And they'd only be like an 8 hour drive! I could go over spring break!

I meander over to their website and find that they have a game on the 14th of March, against the Stars! Perfect, I'll be able to see those guys get beat twice, live, in two nights. So I go to check ticket prices and find that all tickets are run through a lottery, and you're not even guaranteed to get two seats next to eachother, if you get tickets at all.

What a ****ing joke. How can they run their games like this? That's an embarrassment if I've ever seen one. I don't understand how they can do something like this and possibly hope to succeed.

Considering the high demand for Jets tickets, a Lottery is about the only fair way to distribute single game tickets.

Easy - think Wild year 1. The MTS Centre is a 15,000 seat stadium, the Jets are new and there are 13,000 season ticket holders so the single-game demand is high.

I didn't realize that until after I posted. Now I feel like an idiot

I wasn't a fan when the Wild were born. How long did it take before it became easy to pick up tickets?

I'd say it was around the time when they lost Gaborik and brought in The Todd that it got really easy. Maybe a bit before that.

And like Tommy said the last Lemaire year/first Richards year is where the tide turned.

When I went to a couple of Wild games back in 03 I made sure I got my tickets months in advance.

Except for the playoff game I went to. I think I got really lucky when I scored the single seat I got to that game.

There were handfuls of really expensive tickets to Wild games, but yeah once they started to blow the last Gabby/Lemaire year the seats opened up.

Remember when they used to brag about how many people were waiting for season tickets?

The Panthers will sign John Madden tomorrow. That's a good signing.

I like how some people are saying he is done and yet, he had more goals and points with the Wild than with the Hawks + his last season with the Devils.

Canucks scored twice in their PP's. Only 2 penalties so far.

EDIT: Actually, the first Burns penalty just ended when Sedin scored.

Maybe Thornton should try concentrating on the game instead of messing with the Sedins and still losing. I hope the Canucks kick the **** out of the Sharks come playoff time just like last year. Jumbo's time has passed along Boyle and Marleau.

At first I wanted to see Burns and his new crew do well, but with us doing poorly like usual, screw that ****.
