Zids still missing more than not his passes in the Neutral zone, and won't skate it through center either.
Zids should've had hall there, lucky there wasn't a goal.
Devils PP with Zids had almost no zone time, once he was off the ice they suddenly got some time in the zone.

He is looking more active in the O-zone though, hasn't shot yet though I don't think.

Was following the GDT in the Devils forum and saw this comment.

It looks to me like Zids just does not quite know what he is supposed to be doing yet. That should be fixed with a few more practices with his new team. He didnt seem to know who to pass to when moving the puck through center ice, and then he just sort of...stood there and let the bolts clear the puck past him. To be fair it was a pretty good clear.

Yeah this game is kindof a null game. If he still looks like this in a week then there's something wrong.

I think you ment to say the others need to learn where he wants them to be so he can make the pass. After all he is a little old to be learning new things.

I don't think so.

St. Louis with the Hatty.

Zids hasn't made any of the boneheaded plays he made at least 2 times a game with us yet.
(unless he did something the first 10 minutes of the 1st or 3rd period that I missed.)

Zids actually shoots the puck for once.

Hell of a shot by Parise. Primary assist for Zid.

Zach Parise (23) (Power Play)
Assists: Ilya Kovalchuk, Patrik Elias

I don't see Zids in there.

Powerplay for NJ didnt look bad at all, and that goal was good one. Zids roaming around like he likes to do somehow gets praise from the announcers

You don't understand that roaming confuses the defense!

But seriously Zids isn't looking bad but he's not looking as good as the announcers are trying to say he is.

Zids ices it. Nice try on the shoot in from the defending zone. Not much else you can do with time ticking down like that.

Zids with a great idea to ice the puck there. (not that he could do anything else)

Zids didn't look too bad in his first game there, given his limited time with the team.
He was actually able to keep the puck in on the PP/in the zone several times.

Reading the Devils GDT, some of them think Zids was bad or worse.
If they think that's bad Zidlicky they have no idea what we've dealt with all season.

Not a bad debut for Zidlicky from what I saw in the 3rd. -1 because they got caught on a bad change, nothing he can do there. Boxscore says -2 but I believe they got him confused with Larsson on the 4th goal. Penalty to prevent a Stamkos breakaway, albeit because of poor positioning on Zidlicky's part. You can see why he'll be a better fit on their PP, much like last year he's going to be able to roam around as theres 3 other guys who can go out to the point and make plays from there(Elias, Kovalchuk, and Parise as shown on the goal).
