Been impressed with Carle so far today... He'd be a nice consolation prize if we can't pry weber or Suter away from Nashy

Ya, but there's not much better than playing hockey outside under the lights.

Of course, good luck to the goaltenders trying to see a black puck at night...

This is a hugely entertaining game. I swear the ice is better than some I've seen in NHL games.

NBC can't be enjoying the goaltenders' duel though.

Also, what the hell was Jagr doing in the KHL? Dude's still got it.

NBC and the NHL would never go for a Prime Time game that competes with some of the new years football games. Hell that's the reason this game is being played on the 2nd this year instead of new years day.

Flyers games are the only time that God Bless America at sporting events doesn't piss me the hell off. For whatever reason, it's kind of a cool tradition when they do it.

It's a superstition. From Wikipedia:

The Flyers' record when "God Bless America" is played or sung in person stands at a remarkable 94 wins, 26 losses, and 4 ties as of April 26, 2011.

TSN has a story about how a fist fight between Subban and Plekanec started in practice today.

What is the over/under on how many Canadien news outlets place the blame on the non-french speaking coach because he doesn't speak french?

EDIT: Rupp has two goals? Is this real life?

Yeah, he's been up the last week or so for New York. It's been a long strange trip for Bickel - think he was in the ECHL one point last year.

What was the story for why he left so soon? His choice or Lucia's? I remember him having some issues with faster players, but damn if he lined you up...
