They will play little brother but they will get more attention when there winning. You might get luck and actually find an Islander hat or some merchandise in a modells in the city. Good luck finding anything Islander related at a Sports Authority in Queens let alone the City.

Its a shame too because John Tavares is very marketable and if were a Ranger he would be on a giant billboard in times sqaure

He's not saying they would ever surpass the Rangers (never happening), only that they might register on the national radar a bit more as opposed to their current non-existence.

Doesn't matter what you buy. The fact is hundreds of ad execs and media types don't buy NYI in nassau and that's what matters.

A city team gets better ratings and coverage. Nobody mentioned overtaking NYR in popularity.
