J.S. Giguere

Any interest in acquiring Jiggy?

93.10 SV%
1.87 GAA
7W-4L
1 SO

Sports hernia surgery this past summer, so no more groin problems.

He's started Colorado's past games (going on 4 Fri. vs. Tampa), winning all 3 (Washington, Philadelphia, St. Louis), but seeing as Colorado is committed to Semyon Varlamov for the long haul (gave up this year's 1st Rd. pick and a future 2nd Rd. pick pick for him) and Cedrick Desjardins tearing up the AHL, Giguere doesn't fit into the long-term plans of an extremely young Avs team that is not expected to contend until J.S. is done playing pro hockey.

He's signed through the end of '12-'13 @ $1.25M/season

While relatively long in the tooth at 34 years old, he's still younger than six current NHL starters: Tim Thomas, Jose Theordore, Tomas Vokoun, Dwayne Roloson, Miikka Kiprusoff and nikolai Khabibulin.

Warning; if your team signs Giguere, you also sign RECsGuy to your forum. You will see goalie leg humping to a degree you have never seen before. Dick will be ground upon. There will be casualties.

The problem is, we're not 1-2 pieces from fixing this. Why panic trade for something that won't really return in the long term. Bear the pain, re-assess situation in the off-season, build for the long term and protect young AHL talent. Stock the shelves for the long term, play chess, not checkers.

This. Make your decision in sound mind, because you may never live to see another thread about goalies without his username inserted.

Jiggy would be a good addition, if this was at this point of last years team.

We're more than one piece away. Jiggy has a 2 year deal too, don't know how how that'll fit in the plans.

Giguere, is that you?
You are playing so well in Colorado right now, why would you want out?!?
