I would say absolutely, but Marty had to bail us out twice.

The last two weeks have identified two glaring needs:

1) D-zone faceoff specialist
2) Veteran Top-4 who can play 20 minutes a night

Here's my list of faceoff guys who Sather should target and wouldnt cost much since their respective teams are pretty much in need of more important things:

1) Adam Hall Part II
2) Zenon Konopka
3) Brendan Morrison
4) Paul Gaustad
5) Eric Belanger

Solid period, but Gaborik's reluctance to shoot is really bothering me. He never uses his amazing shot on oddman rushes.

Indeed. That period was a perfect example that the theory is flawed.

This is very untrue. I'd bet the majority of his goals are on an odd-man rush.

Erixon is NHL ready. Kid is very smooth with the puck in his own end. He doesnt panic at all.

I am not a fan of Steve Ott in any way at all but I actually agree with him here. Im sure Lavi could wait another 10 seconds for the home team to clear the ice before he barges his way in there. Either way it was made a way bigger deal then it needed to be, but I do not blame Ott at all in any way for this one.

He's growing that beard so he can cushion his face so he won't break any more bones getting punched.

Agree with Keenan. Doesn't feel like there's any hate between these two teams tonight.

a minute ago you were saying we needed to bring in another top 4 Dman.

i disagree about Erixon being NHL ready. He needs more time in the AHL playing top minutes imo. Playing only 10mins a night for an extended period isn't going to help him.

Yeah one-timers from Stepan or burying rebounds. He doesn't look comfortable just shooting straight away. Minor complaint, obviously Gaborik's been fantastic this season.

Shockingly enough, I can't blame Ott, either. This may be the first time ever that Ott is the innocent party.

Adam Hall isn't ugly enough. We need more ugly people on this team.

Dubinsky's goal was awesome.

On the sidenote, I'm forced to watch Islanders intermission report. They were having some gift giveaway in children hospital and DiPietro looks just like a hobo

Really? I wouldn't say its a necessity but we have seen a few goals due to losing faceoffs in our own end. We need to fix this problem, as this can change a game in a heartbeat. I do not necessarily agree with a top 4 vet D man, but would not be opposed to it.

Yeah. I bet if he's ripped some more on the odd man straightaway, he'd have between 20 and 25 goals right now

bringing in a faceoff specialist is not an organizational need. we just need to execute it better.
