That's not entirely true. I don't want to get into it, but there's quite a few of the 'corrupt' that even want that **** hole torn down at this point.

I think the Superbowl ****ed a lot of that up. They're probably going to use the Izod for hosting press ********.

Several people have explained to me what Xanadu was/is intended to be. I still don't understand.

I believe Rush and Billy Joel also each have a song called Xanadu.

Man I hate Tool. I like Coldplay better, and I CAN'T STAND COLDPLAY!
I do hate Nickelback more though.

I wish they built Prudential where Xanadu is. It was so convenient to the Vince Lombardi service area to pick up my buddy I went to games with. Also you can take 17 to beat traffic rather than deal with congested Newark/Turnpike right after rush hour.

All I remember from the 'beginnings' of it was this.

"It won't be just a shopping mall!"
"We need retail stores to collect tax and be viable."
"It's more then just a shopping mall!"
"We can't even get retail anchors to move in."
"We just wanna be a mall already dammit!"

And still, nothing... It's a damn shame no one is being held accountable for the ugly waste of taxes that it is.

A totally off the record number I was hinted at once by a close relative of a high ranking NJSEA member... $4 Billion combined in money, bonds, tax subsidies, public and private funding, etc.

Hey WWE is cool. I just went to Raw at the TB Times Forum a couple weeks ago. I have to say I can't stand going there live.

Why don't WWE come to Prudential? I know they had a PPV there a couple years ago my buddies were going to.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Dream_Meadowlands

Seriously, just read the history section of this thing. A giant money sucking hole that was started in 2003 and the completion date has been changed so many times. Not to mention all the damage that happened to the indoor ski thing and you have those shady developers saying that 'the structural integrity is fine' aka I don't want to spend more money to fix this thing. I would not trust it after all those collapses just from snow.

Not to mention the forever road construction on Route 3 for the Superbowl that seems to make 0 progress.

And who the **** thought that would actually look good? The thing may just be the ugliest building in New Jersey.

I'm willing to bet you can't find an uglier building in the entire world that wasn't built with the intention of being hideous.

The whole structure of the building looks like it's made out of paper or Styrofoam or something. Real gawdy looking.

I think I've brought this up before...but one of the mechanical/electrical guys that used to work at our firm did some work on the Xanadu project at a previous job. he said that that place is an utter mess inside, electical/mechanical speaking

The current location of The Rock is much easier to get to for the vast majority of people in NJ.

I have not been inside the old arena since we lost to Ottawa in Game-5 in April 2007.

I mean look how normal the Madrid Xanadu looks, like a normal mall and the ski slope looks pretty badass.

Guess I'm just fed up with all the NJ.com trolls saying how the Devils have never paid their taxes when thinking of all the money they have brought into the state (granted I will admit the deal the Devils got is extremely corrupt and both sides are not honoring this corrupt deal).

But this state owned land is wasting A LOT more of their money along with the Giants and Jets. Not to mention how corrupt all of the financing seems to be, who knows how much has actually been lost with cover-ups and the like.

Yeah, WWE was at The Rock two summers ago. I think it's not that popular anymore, at least how it was at one point.

AEG is gone. The Devils self-promote now.

As for Springsteen, he's always played the NJSEA buildings. I doubt that's going to change as there's probably a reason for it.

I was right in Cliffside Park so the Meadowlands was great for me.

I think I was there in 08 or 09 for Arenacross at the Meadowlands Arena. It's like different centuries I mean hundred years apart between the two buildings. The Meadowlands is all dark, and dated looking inside in the concourse hallways. The Rock is so BRIGHT, and the lighting, the atmosphere. So much more nicer pleasant vibe.

It's easy to get to, but McCarter highway is a complete mess after the game, and parking is ridiculous. The benefit is the train let's you off 5 minutes away via walk.

CAA was nice because it was literally right off the turnpike. The only problem I had, albeit I didn't have my license yet, was the funnel process of getting out of the parking lot.

Convenient for you and Bergenites maybe. Not for the rest of the state. There's this thing called mass transit.
