22 Dec 2011 - Wild @ Eddy: Yeosmas Eve Service - 8:30PM - FSN/KFAN

@
(20-8-5, 45pts, 2nd) - (14-16-3, 31pts, 13th)

34th Service of the Church of Yeo

Precessional Hymn:

State of the Church:
Greetings and welcome to the Church of Yeo! Tonight, on this holiest of nights, the long dark losing skid may finally come to a close. Our last five meetings have been trying, but difficult times are no reason to abandon your faith in the YEO. Give yourself up to the System, and you shall inherit the Wins. The glorious victory of the YEO will scatter the darkness and a new kingdom, resplendent in points in the standings, will descend from on high.

Tonight, the Wild will play their last-ever divisional game in Edmonton. The age of the "boring Wild" trolls is coming to a close, and a new era is dawning. The Oilers (like all enemies of the YEO) have been struggling, tumbling down the standings to fifth in the Northwestern Division. Strong play from rookies like The Nuge has been canceled out singlehandedly by Cam Barker by defensive struggles. The Wild will need to take advantage if they hope to stay above the Canucks in the race for the last-ever Northwest Division title.

Congregation:

The Butcher - Cullen - Heater
Clutter - Brodz - Johnson
Palmer - Peters - Fmr. Golden Gopher Jeff Taffe
Ortmeyer - POWE!!! - Stubby

Schultz - Zids
Falk - Stoner
Scandella - The Spurge

Backs

In Our Prayers:
May The Kaptain's lower body heal quickly.
May Gopher's Golden Boy's wrist return to wellness soon.
May The Gooch's knee be ready with expedience.
May The Big Bear find peace through his post-concussion symptoms.
May The Apple Valley Native, Colton "Man Body" Gillies, Greg Zanon, and Justin Falk find their games soon, that they may return from healthy scratchdom.

Sermon:

This is the word of the YEO.

Communion:

All are welcome at the Table of the Yeo. Communion should be served:

- Whenever Terhaar or Greenlay's voice cracks
- Whenever Jeff Taffe is referred to as a "former Golden Gopher."
- Whenever Zidlicky makes a soft turnover.
- Whenever the Wild hit the pipe.
- Whenever "Bloomington Native Tom Gilbert" is mentioned.
- Whenever Santa's got a Brand New Ride (and it's nice).

Recessional Hymn:

Hopefully we can get win here. Edmonton is one of the teams we probably have a better chance against, although there speed might kill us without our top players

I don't know 'bout y'all, but when I picture my Mike Yeo he's up on a stage.. front and center.. singin' Lynyrd Skynyrd.. with some angel wings on his back.

Lundin and Zidlicky as healthy scratches tells me that Yeo is putting his faith in the young guys.

Edit: Nevermind, sounds like Zanon is out. Don't know whether it's because of injury or poor play.

If Koivu is still out I don't have much faith. Then again Eddy is one of those teams we might win without Koivu.

Watch the guy in the blue shirt throw the football in that comercial. I laugh every time... One of the best limp wrist throws I have ever seen.

One of the last games I'll be missing in a while due to late start/early work start...

Need to take points here.

Also worth noting are the plastic burgers on the grill with no smoke or fire

Probably a better GDT then what I was thinking of coming up with. Mine would have been a profanity laden "Merry Christmas you ****ing *******s" theme GDT starring pics of some washed up has been actor/comedian with a christmas movie as he told us about the upcoming game and maybe did some kind of Eddy/Wild/Profanity riddled take on "Twas the Night Before Xmas". Maybe next year I'll give this GDT thing a try.

No idea if I'll watch the game live tonight. I've had a ****** past 10 hours, been up for almost twice that now, and just feel like passing out. I feel loss #6 coming on anyway, and DVRing the thing gives me the option of fast forwarding if things get real bad. So if I'm not around here come game time and anyone wonders, thats probably where I am, in bed, wishing I was drunk. Or at least wishing I was. To top today off with a pile of coal, I am out of booze.

*kicks a can and sulks out the door*

The guy who grabs a beer, then bro-fists the next bro he sees?
