Should Have Hired Bruce Boudreau

Since Jan. 1, the Ducks led by Boudreau are 16-4-4. They have earned at least one point in 20 of their last 23 games.

Meanwhile, here in Montreal....................

I think we should have drafted Crosby and Yakupov and that 10 year old Youtube sensation too

Ya, Getzlaf, Perry, Ryan. These are the reasons Ducks are doing well, not Boudreau. Habs do not have 1 comparable to those three so we would be in no better position.

Got to question how one would do apart from the others though. Perry would probably be great anywhere but they definitely make each other better.

They've been getting decent secondary scoring too from the unreal Selanne...and Koivu.

Boudreau is horribly overrated imo. Couldn't coach a 1st class Caps team to the finals two years in a row.. Same Caps that average 107 points per season..

Boudreau's success is strictly limited to the regular season...and he doesn't espouse enough "toughness" to be worth hiring.

Yes, we absolutely know that Boudreau would have had us perform just as well. Yes, coaches can make a difference. But if they can provide the same changes from one team to another. And also, seeing how the Caps were playing then when they fired him. I'm positive nobody in this fanbase would have wanted him hired.

JM is a good coach. Saying otherwise is crazy. He was boring though.

Boudreau is also a good coach for the new NHL. I would've liked him here.

I know that we would be having more success with Boudreau than with Cunneyworth. Especially after watching the first two periods tonight.

Please explain to me how you "know" Boudreau would be a better coach. What he is a god and makes Gomez into a scoring machine, or heal Markov's knee? LOL This Habs team is beyond a coach tweaking things, way beyond.

only reason i would want him as coach because his reactions are funny to watch when theres a bad call

Boudreau needs offensive skilled talent to work with. We dont have much of that

Yes, because the post-Martin era has been exhilarating!

Anaheim was getting nowhere fast this year with Carlyle as coach. Boudreau steps in and with pretty much the same players, turns the season around. They were 20 points out of a playoff spot and are now down to 6.

You probably believe that coaches are responsible for setting lines and calling line changes and use their one time-out during a game and thats about it.

I believe that a very good coach can get his players to play above their potential through motivation and leadership. I am sure that you dont believe in that concept. But Boudreau and Hitchcock are proving that coaching matters. So is Dale Hunter in Washington. He is proving that he is not that great of a coach.

Coaching matters with regard to whether a team wins a Cup or just plays the game.
