The new Bauer face protection visors

Anybody buy the new Bauer labeled clear visors yet? Full face shield or otherwise?

I bought the HS22s Prowave which is the staright cut version and not the bug eyed looking ones

Anyway I paid $59.95 US

They have the Oakley patent info on them and it says "Formerly Itech" or something like that on the package with the Itech logo.

The visor has the red Bauer stickers on the sides of the visor.

In any case the quality sure is good, I can't make it fog on the inside by breathing on it hard which is good. I wore them for the first time friday night on my first pickup game back after my bicep injury and did not even notice I was wearing them.

No fogging issues .... lightweight and very excellent. What do you think of them if you have them or something else in this line by Bauer?

By the way I am an older guy and have hated face protection since forever ... this is the first time in my life I find something I actually do not notice I am wearing when playing. I am very happy about that .... finally!

Good thing you're American. I'm pretty sure that visor would be illegal in Canada.

Bauer acquired Itech -> Bauer Hockey Buys Mission-ITECH
So it's in fact a Itech visor.

I was going to comment that it appeared to be just like my Itech, guess I was more right than I thought. I wear mine when I ref, I like it for about the same reasons the OP stated, easy to see through and doesn't fog.

Yeah the package has a big Itech logo and says "Formerly Itech" on the box. Bauer acquired Itech so Itech is buhbyes. yeah Bauer is using their technology and more than likely the same factory in China or wherever they are made.

It also has an Oakley patent mention on the box.

Yep I saw them on the rack in the store as well as researched them extensively before buying one. I had to wait for stores to get the new bauer ones as you couldn't place an order with Itech for a couple of months. Two guys on our team use the bugeyed prowave, one mirrored and one not. I tried on the mirrored one and did not like it or the nose clearance space.

I mentioned in my post the HS22s and the small s stands for Straightcut in their model numbers.

I have a big schnauz also and my huge honker would not like the aviator one I am sure as i barely get nasal clearance with the straight cut prowave.

I don't think Bauer or Itech had a big proboscis in mind when they invented this crap. bastages!

I'd imagine that the "new" Bauer stuff is just the Itech visor with a new sticker and box. It looks about the same, and there really wasn't any reason to change anything. I love my Itech HS22.

yep they are the same with new stickers. That is about it.

I am going to make it a yearly routine maintenance to replace mine when scratched up. i am absolutely in love with the optics and feeling like you are not wearing anything.

Finally some freedom in this area.

I have this itech visor. It's even smaller than the HS22.

Hmmm that kinda resembles that Aviator styled one, is that what this is?

My big huge nose is my problem with visors. I wish they made a large instead of a one size fits all type deal ... if they do please let me know someone.

If you want a less aesthetically pleasing visor that is CSA approved, you could check out the ITECH x100 or dlx100 or even their lower end models (Similar to the cut of visor Malkin uses). I have plenty on nose room in them, and they do adjust quite a bit (I also have a bigger schnoz). I think the helmet does play a role in the fit of the visor, I use the Bauer 5500 or 5000 (I can't remember which) with no problems thus far (One full season into using a visor)

^^^^^
That looks like the one Hossa uses.

OP, I'm pretty sure that's the one I have. Bought it a few months ago because a couple of the leagues I'm playing in this year require facial protection. No problems with it.

It's pro-stock. It's the same style that Kovalchuk and Havlat uses.
