I wonder what happened to the team that went to the conference finals two years ago?

They came back down to earth, stopped vastly overachieving and traded the goaltender who got them there. (Price has been better though)

That's what happened.

Currently having the same misfortune as the goaltender who was solely responsible for the success of the team that went to the conference finals 2 years ago.

Then: Bergeron, Markov (Subban after he was injured), Hamrlik, Spacek, Gill, Gorges, Mara, O'Byrne

Now: Campoli, Kaberle, Subban, Diaz, Weber, Campoli, Gill, Gorges, Emelin

The current D is softer than warm marshmallows. Even with Bergeron's constant brain farts I'd take that D over the crapfest we're icing now (with the exception of Emelin). It's nice to have talented puck moving D-men but you can't sacrifice your entire defense to that cause or other teams are going to destroy you in your own zone.

The veterans are aging badly. Their bodies are falling apart. That's it.

Yeah that defense was much meaner

On paper our defense should be better.

Price has been playing almost as bad as everyone else. Good thing for us it's a contract year.

Price is not the problem. Overpaid vets. And a weak farm team. Hard to believe the habs salary is as much as Detroit

1/3rd of that salary is on IR, and has been since game 2.

That's the Habs problem in a nutshell, at least before they fired Martin.

Carey Price is the only player who really want to win. You see in his attitude that he is tired to be the only one. Tired to see how they play poorly in front of him. Tired to get hit all the time without any response from his D-men...

So I see you decided to watch the stats sheet instead of the games this season. Good for you, you ain't missing much.

I wouldn't say he's been bad, but he had a rough start to the year, and at times gives up some soft ones like the 3rd goal last night.

bruins fan who comes in peace. I watch most habs games on RDS and couldn't disagree more. I think Price has played quite well. I think the biggest problem is that your defence is to soft. I'm sure there are 29 teams who would gladly take Price off of your hands. I think if Price played in front of the Bruins defence he would be a Vezina finalist every year.

Saw yesterdays game on the tube and being a winnipegger enjoyed watching the win and so loving having the NHL back. But the habs have always been my fav. team when the jets weren't around so thats been quite a few years of following the habs pretty close. That habs team is a team with no heart no passion no future. The motto for the habs management should be a line from george costanza where from now on "i will do the opposite, if every decision i've made has been wrong then the opposite must be right".When you draft and trade for small and soft then........ well anyways hope things turn around for you guys cause they will

Sure if you say so, let me guess those 4-5 games that HE lost in the SO that we had no business being in if it wasn't for HIM

Nice try, if the players would give as much of an effort as Price we would be a much better hockey team

Amen. Injuries explain a lot of our problems but that still doesn't explain why our former top scorers don't hit the net from the slot.

Someone really needs to explain to me how effort and work ethic affect shot accuracy.

Confidence probably. They seem to shoot either a split second too soon or too late.
