Alfie's Still Got It ; Thoughts on Playoffs

First off

Glad we got that out of the way.

Second, don't look know but Alfie has 25 points in 29 games, a very good season considering his age.

Does Murray make a deal this year, or does the stick it out at the deadline? We have a surplus of prospect depth, and I find it plausible to think that murray might make a deal being Alfie's possible last season (not a blue chipper or anything)

Thoughts?

I think we have a team that is built for the playoffs with the way Maclean runs it.

Alfie isn't going anywhere unless he requests a trade. I do not see that happening unless we fall far out of the playoff race, that doesn't look likely at all right now.

It is crazy how productive he still is, especially after what he went through last season. Never doubt Alfie is the lesson here folks.

If MacLean continues improving this team on a daily basis like this....I see our team THIS season being pretty damn good.

Next year we'll be right up there with the Chicago's, Pittsburgh's, Philly's, Boston's etc....if we can lure a certain big name UFA forward here this summer.

With all due respect, Erik Karlsson is the best player on this team. Easily.

We need a few things before we become a cup contender. First thing is a consistent starter.

This season has been fun season so far, but let's not get ahead of ourselves here.

i think we should step back we are far from a playoff team at this point in time.

Dont want ppl getting their hopes up just to listen to them cry if Ottawa misses.

We're in 7th at Christmas.

How exactly are we far from a playoff team?

should have added a lock for a playoff team.

We only have a few point lead on teams and most of them have games in hand on us.

by new years we could be in 10th.

i love the way the team is playing but talk of adding at the deadline and going deep etc, is missed placed in my mind.

I don't think there is anything wrong with getting our hopes up... Even if we miss the playoffs, it will be disappointing.. yes.. but considering where we (and everyone else) thought we would be.. I think we would be able to bow out with our heads held high..

This team is going nowhere, but up, and I think a lot quicker than many of us thought.. We never even had to go through a "true" rebuild...

As of right now...were already getting close to being a playoff team surprisingly. More experience(especially playoff), injury luck, and more high-end skill willl make us a contender.

i agree i just dont want the ppl that will say we should have been a playoff team and trade him and fire them.

If we make the playoffs thats huge and would be the best outcome.

I don't think anyone will be mad if we miss the playoffs, but a lot of us think that we have a realistic shot at making them, and possibly winning a round. (or 4 )

He's the best offensive player we have, Alfie is the best overall player we have...EK's defensive game needs some work...

Meh, I still think Spezza is our best player (right now), or at least the most important player to our teams success.
