News And Notes
Quote:
“YES, I'VE TAKEN UP SPANISH LESSONS; I THINK THAT'S IMPORTANT IN THE SOUTH FLORIDA MARKET.”
- Panthers coach Kevin Dineen was joking when asked about his old Whalers' teammate Randy Cunneyworth taking so much heat for not speaking French.

Primary Target

Milan Lucic, who went as Igor for Halloween, has become a bane for many an NHL opposition. Just ask Ryan Miller what he thinks. He's also coming off a one game suspension, so be wary Panthers.

Red Hot Cat Of The Night

Kris Versteeg, who has 4 points in his last 3 games, with 2 assists last night.

To continue the Clemmer discussion...

Clemmer...42 overall in save %. 27th overall in GAA.

when compared to goalies who are backups who have played more than 5 games...

He's about 7 or 8 overall in GAA and 18 overall in Save %. So yeah, decent backup statistically.

First game of the season I feel like we have no chance. All I ask for is a good effort, no stupid penalties, and convert on PP chances.

Pretty much this, a point would def. feel like "mission complete" and run with it

No Peverly for Boston, so their missing their best pk forward. If we get PPs, we need to capitalize the same way we did last night. Need Flash to step up tonight, and hopefully we can escape with at least one. Go Cats Go!

We have to play a very conservative boring and discipline game to even have a remote chance @ a point here. D would need to be @ their A+ game to pinch in offensively when possible as we really just have 1/2 good line now. Of course Theo would also need to put on his Superman cape as well.

Have we won a single game where we rolled with 7 defensemen?

I'm going to try and be optimistic here. It would be very very easy to just throw in the towel and start making excuses about why we can't win. Dineen I'm sure will be spelling it out to them that if they give their all tonight they can win. All 7 of our call-ups need to seize the moment. It's a golden opportunity to prove that they belong in the NHL. It's also a golden oppurtunity for players like Matthais and Kulikov, heck even Guds to show that that despite being young they can step up when needed.

We're going to have to really concentrate on the defensive side of the game. If everyone shows up with the belief that they can win this and nobody does anything really stupid we can pull off an amazing win. It can certainly be done but Dineen is going to have to convince them to go for it.

GO PANTHERS!

As everyone said a point will be a blessing. Actually kind of thankful I am working tonight lol.

BTW that Clemmensen video was hard to watch... he just doesn't look comfortable, his positioning is proof of that.

No reason not to be optimistic, we got nothing to lose. Theo plays Boston well, our D is ready, we've all seen upsets.

Why not us.

Why not now.

yup that was the last time..these injuries can really hamper our progress here, but it's just the adversity a team has to deal with in the course of a season, when we make it through we'll be stronger than ever

Damn, I could see both of my fav teams in one night, but I would only get to sleep only for like 2,5 hours because my sister is coming over for christmas and I have to do stuff with her kids and they come like really early in the morning and would pull me out of bed even if I'm still sleeping.

Oh well, guess I'll only watch this one. Go Panthers, even one point makes me happy.

Boston's not the kind of team where we can get away with a win while icing half an NHL squad and half an AHL/ECHL one. Hoping for a Christmas miracle but not really expecting one tonight.

Interesting, horton in a slump 2 pts in last 8 9 goals all season; Bruin board questioning whether he is post concussion or back to his panther ways.

Dont care just dont break out tonight.

Play Campbell,Jovo and/or Kuli at forward tonight. Make history and put Dmen all on a line tonight. Should call up Robak and some other young Dmen in the minors. I think we would fair better than calling up these forward scrubs.

Upsets are one thing but if I am a Boston fan and they lose to the Rampage tonight at home I would expect someone to get fired.

We should all hope for no injuries. That is all.

The Panthers are not getting a point tonight, save for a Christmas miracle.

Merry Christmas everyone!

They're lovely kids really, the older one (3yo) is a bit hyper-active but not too much for a boy. My goddaughter (1yo) is the sweetest thing ever.

Also, Merry Christmas everyone, it's already the 24th over here by 8 minutes.
