Thanks, Howson, for cleaning up MacLean's toxic waste. Welcome, Kekalainen; let's get good things built!
Please, no more trades for Howson. Get rid of the guy. His interests and that of the org are not the same. In addition to needing a complete overhaul, this org needs an infusion of elite talent that tanking can offer. Howson is trying to save his job by getting wins this year.
No trades should be made that improve the team THIS year, unless they are of the addition by subtraction principle (i.e. unloading boat anchor / outsized contracts... Tyutin, Vermette, Umberger... aka. most of the vets on the team). This team needs to be looking 100% future.

Personally, I agree, and I think we really have nothing to get excited over... Howson has shown he is competent in 1 for 1 trades, but this team would need essentially 3 or 4 veterans moved to with 3 to 4 new players in return coming in in one big move to shake the foundations of the lockerroom. I don't think he has ability or the stomach, with the contracts, stats, and window of oppurtunity to move them based on highest interest, to do this.
How Great would it be if the Habs sent over their first rounder this year to CBJ and the player coming to MTL doesn't do anything...
CBJ First & Fifth Overall Pick
With the first Overall Pick, the Columbus Blue Jackets are proud to select Nail Yakupov
With the second Overall Pick, the Columbus Blue Jackets are proud to select Alex Galchenyuk
"Mr Gauthier, What was the logic behind this trade?"
"Hahaha, Told you the Trade with CBJ would help us get up in the standings!"
"Oh wait.. We finished 25th in the NHL...? ********* "

Given our history with Russian forwards taken in the first round, I think that would cause my head to explode.

It isn't, really. As I said before, they're not up to "shoot on sight" status on T&R (for the record, that's where having my name in blue actually counts for something), but they're not exactly in good graces either.
