Fourth line was the best line we had tonight. Boyce really brought it.
Have no idea what the Leafs brass are going to do when players start coming back from injury.
Kadri as for right now owns a spot on the team, he's been a dynamo for the last two games. Which leaves Armstrong where? Frattin's spot? He's been great too! 4th line duty?! Speaks volumes for Leafs depth when you can even say 4th line and Armstrong in the same breath.
Some moves are going to have to be made to free up room, or we risk the chance of losing some good players, ala Crabb or Boyce via waivers.
If you weren't whining about Kadri being with the Marlies then you are a hater.
I, therefore, am a hater.
Not that I like the term haters, but it was more than just that Moose. There were plenty of posters that were writing him off, and proclaiming he didn't fit into the leafs plans that are pretty quiet after these last two games.
Considering how bad the Islanders played, especially defensively, I don't think the game should have been as close. They had few good chances outside of some of the defensive mistakes we made that led to a few goals. All the same, a win is a win, so I'll take it. For once we got a break penalty wise, with calls being low (though we did play quite disciplined) and the Tavares diving penalty at the end being a bit of a stretch IMO. You could argue that makes up for the Franson "high stick" though.
That may have been the 4th lines best game yet. They had multiple sequences of possesion time in the offensive end and actually cycle the puck effectively and are a danger to score unlike our 4th line usually is. Boyce has been great and we should send Dupuis to waivers if thats what it takes to keep Boyce up.
Heres some gems from the past couple days. I wont mention who said them.
Kadri is not going to happen, Wilson and Burke both hate his cocky attitude. Unless he starts piling up the points and stays a + guy during this callup he is gone, and further if he stays up I smell a trade---but Frattin and Colborne yes. Joe looked a lot better in just his first call-up stint then Kadri ever has till now of course, but last night was one game; though Kadri scored the GWG he also took a lazy penalty that could of cost us a HUGE win. Frattin never, ever has done that, and either did Joe. What a difference like I said when Joe came up vs pre-season.....my guess would be Kadri involved in blockbuster, and Joe stays up rest of season depending who gets traded and who we get in return...remember Burke's quote from the off-season "you will probably see Colborne and Gardiner sometime in the new year stay up," he was way of on Jake but no fault there, he surprised the NHL with his talent. Colborne has 22 pts in 19 games Kadri has 22pts in 22 gms...but remember Joe got called up to the leafs for 8 games in which he had 4pts and was a plus 1. Kadri last year had 29 games 12pts (only 3 goals) and was a -3. I am not saying Kadri sucks, but I am saying Colborne has come a long way, much faster then Kadri, and he has a good attitude. So out of the 3 players Kadri would be my pick to leave.
Wilson has said before, he doesnt listen to coaching staff...watch him in an interview he fumbles his words to sound professional...his immaturity shines thru every time...but regardless of that I would still keep Frattin and Colborne over Kadri
This one is referring to Steve Ott, and how hes a far superior player top Kadri
I'm not saying he's great, I'm saying he's a way better NHL player than Kadri ever will be. He's good for close to 20 goals a year, he plays a physical in your face style and is a dandy on the penalty kill. He draws his fair share of penalties as well. Kadri looks like a very good AHL player who could probably be part of an expansion team in the NHL some day. He's not a player who wins games for you.
honestly kessel was easily the most talented player on the ice, especially in the neutral zone, can't imagine watching him when hes scoring, fighting out there was great to see, every one around me was actually memorized by him,
gardiner skates magically
bozak was making things slow down out there, i jumped out of my seat on that 2 one one that kessel missed
frattin is reall strong on the puck esp. against the boards
first game at ice level.. it was different, great exp.
