Yeah, who would have thought Cam would be an everyday player?
The truth is, he has deserved it. He almost had another assist today too. He sent Carter in all alone.
Cam gets too big a pass because he's a maniac with a good personality.
That 4th line, whether it's Boulton, Janssen, Sestito, whoever, is awful. Virtually every time they are out bad things happen. God forbid they end up in their own zone. They were passable tonight, barely, against a Caps team that didn't show up for two. I didn't see them much in the third, and for good reason.
Also, the third line in their own zone hasn't been very good. I don't want to believe it's mostly on Tedenby, but he is still really struggling in his own zone.
On a random note, we were in section 104 behind the net the Devils shot at twice. Lots of action there in the first, but all 6 goals were scored at the other end of the ice I felt so bad for Volch. I reallllly wanted him to bury one. Especially after taking yet another puck to the face.
Watching it the second time, the Caps actually had a really good PP for their first try, that Steve and Chico pointed out had "no shots," but that's because they were missing the net. They had 3 great opportunities. I like how they cycle the puck low, and it opens up the top for the shooters. The problem with their second PP was that they never got settled in the zone, and their 3rd PP was killed with a penalty.
I don't really care about Foster, he sucks defensively and he's extremely soft. Has anybody seen him make a hit or be physical up against the boards? BTW boner alert for Adam Henrique, would love to see him centering the parise kovalchuk line for the next 10 years.
Urbom won't score much, but apparently he'll make sure they're all of the pretty variety
I loved the face palm moment after he scored when Chico exclaims something about scoring your first NHL goal. Lol that was at the end of last year Chico.
Yo this was the least deserved win of the season is all I have to say. If I was a Caps fan or played for the Caps, or was there coaches, GM , etc I would be PISSED, and FUMING right now for not getting 2 points..
So because they gave up a 3-goal lead, they didn't deserve to win it in the shootout? WHAT KIND OF LOGIC IS THAT, MAN?
Okay then....Let's petition the NHL to give the 'W' to the Caps then if you think we deserved to lose then.
Good grief.....
I understand that it's annoying and frustrating for that to happen(hell I was p-ssed, too!!) but at the end of the day, what matters is getting the 2-points and 'W'.
Worrying about Tiebreakers AT THIS POINT(in friggin' December) like Devilswede and that other guy, should not even be in ANYONE'S mind right now.
I cannot understand at all why everyone is complaining about this win. First off, we played without half our defense, we were all hoping for one point from this game, but we came out with two. Also a win is a win, would have been better to win in regulation, but under the circumstances, I'll take it. Also I saw comments on if this was the playoffs we would have lost in OT, or were not ready for the playoffs. A bunch of you were not even expecting the Devils to make the playoffs, and now were complaining about how we would do not do to well in the playoffs because our wins are not good enough?

+1, my friend.
Certain posters are acting like we should've just LET THE CAPS WIN since we gave up a 3-goal-lead. It's disgusting and disgraceful as fans to think that way, especially when the Team GOT THE WIN which is....you know....The Whole POINT of an NHL Game.

Marty's garbage. Lucky we won brah.
Ignore the loud minority, most of us cherish wins of all kinds.
I purchased game center plus just to watch the condensed game last night because I'm at the in-laws and can't see my center ice. Looked like a great game all around given our defense lineup.
Watching the condensed version of the other games too. Boston looks scary again.
I did, and I didn't say "the saves Brodeur can make" I said "that particular shot because it went in on the freaking inch or 2 the pads leave open".
You're having a hard time letting that go aren't you? Marty's awesome, I was just saying that Luuuuuuu pads wouldn't let that go in regardless of who's in net.
Of course, someone with Luuuuuuu pads would never be able to make saves the way Marty does - flair and class.
Like that SO save on Ovi - no butterfly goalie would ever be able to lift the pads high enough to get the glove across quickly.
I just don't get why you said it is all. It just seems like you are nip picking for no reason honestly. I could counter with a couple of goals LUUUUUUU could have saved if he had smaller pads too. What is it that I can't let go excatly (Brodeur isn't 25 anymore I get that and he lets goals in that he would normaly save. However, its just getting ridiculous how people look for the littlest things to blame him for every game he plays now)? The fact that people just look for excuses to blame Brodeur on every goal or that Brodeur needs bigger pads? I can go around the NHL and pick goals that go in and say if only that goalie had few more inches or a few less inches. Whats the point of saying something like that? And if Brodeur did make that save we wouldn't be having this discussion now would we?
Edit: And if I am the only one that thinks it was ridicous so be it. I just don't really see the logic behind you posting that is all.
If someone other then Rookie thinks I am crazy tell me but I am just not buying it Rookie sorry. Boring and Apic you guys don't say anything.

How is it that he didnt make the team out of training camp ??? and since he came back up he's a freekin star

"It's always a big goal when you score your first National Hockey League Goal.............................................. ..but to get your 2nd and prove the first one wasnt a fluke is even bigger"

Except it's not, when you give away points to conference rivals you don't need to give away. We remember the point we get when we lose OT games and shootouts but seem to forget the other team gets one when we win shootouts.
And who said they didn't want to win, Devilswede? You can't take him too seriously, although to a point maybe actually losing more of these games would drive the point home that they have to defend better. They're sort of 'getting away' with it because of the shootout.

Okay then. Let's just call Lou, and ask the NHL(Bettman) to give a REGULATION WIN to the Caps then. Happy?
