Playing Foster on anything
other than the PP (save for an odd shift) is asking for even more trouble.
There is a reason why TB in 2009-10, a lousy team with less defensive depth than NJD today, parked him on RW on their fourth line.
The most well-known scouting report in the NHL is that this guy is a skyscraper on skates. And that's a commentary on his utter lack of mobility more than his size.
