Wilson extended

Santa stuffs a certain piece of paper in my stocking." #whatcouldthatbe

This tweet is gathering some steam on Twitter. (Haven't seen any talk on this board about it.)

Edit: Added TSN link to finished deal.

I've been critical of Wilson of late but I found that tweet pretty funny.

My first thought was blue prints to an effective PK.

Must be real close to a deal for him to tweet that.

Three year extension sounds fair.

I really don't see the harm is just giving him an extension after the season is complete, knowing whether or not the team made the playoffs.

Two year would fine as well, but three gives him a better sense of long term want. Yes, I'm serious, I like our coach.

I'd give him a conditional contract. If he doesn't make the playoffs this year, then he could very well be fired. However, there's some uncertainty, because you never know what Burke's opinions are of his soulmate and companion.

I sure hope you don't apply the same logic to picking a spouse, liking a coach for being mediocre is one thing, settling for mediocre in life is another.

Don't get why you are so apathetic to the expectations for the Leafs. Is making the playoffs all you strive for this team?

You do know teams with bad defensive records with bad Pk's don't win Stanley Cups.

Ron wilson is a great coach.

Yes the PK needs work but i'm pretty sure it was personel and lack of confidence that's killed them. They were very non agressive out there for awhile.. while other times very agressive.

I guarantee in the second half out PK will improve. If we can even get it to 20th by years end that will be ok if we can keep out PP in the top 10.

Notice wilsons record as a leaf get significantly better the last 80 games with a good goalie in reimer. solid additions like Lupul and gardiner??

Yea he needs players to work with. No coach is perfect but i like Ron wilson for this team.. i can't think of anyone else available that wouldn't be a latteral movement at best.

Maybe you should get your team into the playoffs, heck, fix the damned penalty kill, before you talk extension.
