Monarchs game at Staples

do you plan to attend? I dont know if this thread has already been posted. It would be great to see Noah Clarke and others to play there again in front of the home crowd. Anyways, it would be nice to see our team from back East go at it with Utah. I am excited. Just a positive note within all this crap we are experiencing with the NHL. I plan on attending

Here's a question, though. With the lockout, I'm would venture to guess that most NHL arenas did not put down their ice surface for the season (with the exception of Philadelphia because the Phantoms have scheduled games there for the month of October due to events going on at the Spectrum). That being said, is there a chance that this game will be moved to Manchester or Utah? It hardly seems worth it for the Staples Center to put down the ice surface for just one game. Since the Monarchs will already be in Utah, the logical move would be to play the game in Utah (barring a scheduling conflict at the E-Center).

By the way, according to the Monarchs website, the game on October 28 is scheduled as an away game in Utah. The Grizzlies site still says that the game will be played in LA.

Do you know this to be fact or are you just saying that?

It really makes no sense for the Staples Center to go through the trouble and expense of putting down the ice surface for one AHL game.

Oh, I'm just saying that based on the following:

The only publicity campaign the Kings are running right now is for Hockey Day in LA..go to the Kings website and check it out.

They are running a daily trivia contest based on Monarchs Trivia.

They have given tickets to the game to all season ticket holders.

They are promoting family 4-packs.

This game was set-up knowing well and good that there would be an NHL lockout.

From a PR stand point, it makes perfect sense to ice in and make a hockey game featuring many of their prospects and future Kings available to the fans.

Received a phone call from the Kings announcing the games has been moved to 7:30 P.M. So I would imagine the game is still going to happen.

Can't do it because of our new little Kings fan (new Baby), and the wife said no. I want a detailed report please.
