I do not have Versus where I am. I will need someone to PM me a thread if that's not too much trouble.

Oshie out, Cracknell in. Oshie out for two games with a wrist ligament issue that apparently doesn't need surgery. Also Halak starting which all but guarantees Elliott in Detroit (unless there's a shutout).

Steen-Backes-Stewart
Grachev-Berglund-Perron
Porter-Arnott-D'Agostini
Cracknell-Nichol-Langenbrunner

edit: JR has put out the lines in Morning Skate, along with more details on Oshie and the plan for Cole. Apparently the plan is to get Cole some games but Hitchcock admits he has no idea how to do that. (The Russell-as-Hitchcock's boy thing means, honestly, it has to be one or the other Cole or Jackman starting next year. Cole is NHL ready. If they re-sign Jackman cannot imagine them not dealing Cole.) Also Dallas apparently flying in to STL this afternoon.

Almost every game day this season I check the standings, double-check our opponent and find myself thinking "Alright, this is a big game tonight." It's pretty refreshing.

I really hope they don't deal Cole. Actually, even if Jax is re-signed, what's wrong with a LD of Cole-Russell-Jackman? I see it as Cola being the odd man out. They could even re-sign Huskins as a 7nth, in case of injuries because of outside of Cole, I don't think we have another young D ready to step in. ( Maybe Ponich, but that's a long shot.)

I'm a Cole fan too. But, how are they going to go from not letting him crack the lineup one season to top pairing the next?

I'd be sitting Cola and letting Cole play now. I'd be trying to package him in a trade

Perhaps

Steen-Backes-Stewart
Perron-Berglund-Grachev
D'Agostini-Arnott-Langenbrunner
Porter-Nichol-Cracknell

edit: Korac says Stewart's on the top line and Grachev's with Perron and Berglund, so this is the lineup unless Cracknell and Porter switch wings.
Awesome. I really like Cracknell, and Grachev deserves a real chance.

I see your point. Cole is NHL ready but not top- pairing ready. However, I don't think Russell is a top guy either. I guess what it comes down to is that lack of a top LD again, because as it stands Cola and Jax are our top L guysand I'm not thrilled with that. I suppose Cole could be dealt for that elusive top LD guy, but I'd rather they try and get that guy without letting go of Cole. It is an interesting problem.

Despite it being hard to imagine Jackman in another uniform, I could see them keeping Cole and letting Jackman walk. If you remove sentiment, this is savings of ~2M. Cole is younger, faster, has more offensive upside, and is a more punishing hitter than Jackman.

It's time they take the training wheels off Cole.

Good luck tonight, boys, should be a good one between two teams with 20-14 records!

Except 4 of our losses are from the shootout. We suck at it. g/l to you guys too. Not sure why you have our number recently, but hopefully Hitch changes that.

20-10 vs. 18-13 pre-shootout.

That sucks about Oshie. I always enjoy watching him play.

Hopefully it's a great game tonight. GO BLUES!

Long time reader first time poster, Think this is a big game for us against a team we don't seem to have had a lot of success against recently would be nice to get a good result especially with the new alignment next year going to be important to win against these rival teams.

Bit disappointing Oshie's not playing today seems to be getting it together this year. As for Cole I would be disappointed if he was traded with Jax and Cola free agents I believe, surely it would be better to trade one of them or just not re-sign one of them and keep our future .

Welcome. Two years ago they beat Dallas 3 out of 4. Last year they led all 4 games but gave up leads, something they're not doing this year. It'll be important to get an early lead and make sure they keep an eye on Steve Ott, one of the dirtiest players in the league. Not excited to get more games starting next year against that cheapo. They will need Berglund and Stewart to make an impact with Oshie out tonight.

Thanks good to be aboard,
Yeah it was the games from last year I was referring to, agree we look better with a lead this year and yes still waiting for Stewart to remember he's suppose to be a power forward and start throwing his body about if he can do this make a huge difference to this team.
