Oshawa if anything will be sellers this year...they arent doing anything this year at all will be lucky to even make the playoffs
At this point, I'm not sure they will be. To me, and from what I'm hearing, they're still going for it.
They remain incredibly inconsistent, but they've slowly started to play better (thanks to better performances from their stars like Christian Thomas, Andy Andreoff, etc). Reeled off three in a row this weekend.
With the parity in the East this year, I think they'll probably still end up being buyers to make that run. And adding J.P. Anderson would make sense, although you'd have to think it'd cost them Altshuller to do it (but with Ken Appleby waiting in the wings, that might not be the worst trade).
We have already mentioned that Steven Shipley could be out of the Red, Black and white. But joining him could be Luke Mercer and the Hamilton Brothers. The Hamiltons were put on the block 3 weeks ago. There has not been any buyers yet, but they are still out there.
How does that help them get better? After making the deal for Kuhnhackl, why would then turn around and sell off their two best players?
Then the author procedes to write this:
Windsor Spitfires
Windsor has been looking to sell to build for a potential Memorial Cup run in 2014. Nick Ebert has been rumoured to be on his way out the door along with the previous mentioned Spitfires players. The other players involved in talks is Alexander Khokhlachev and Nick Czinder. For Koko to move, you would have to see an import be dropped. I don’t see London Dropping Namestnikov, so maybe Matta is the odd man out after falling down the draft boards.
Sorry but that's even more ridiculous. If London picked up Khokhlachev, there wouldn't be a need for the 19yo Namestikov. Why would they give up Matta who could potentially be with the Knights for 2 more seasons? Just doesn't make sense.
The author also notes that Sudbury wants to make a run. How would they do that by trading their best defenseman?

Agree. Some of the authors of that blog are excellent and provide entertaining and insightful reads. Others, not so much. At times, I feel like some of the writers construct their articles with biases toward certain players who may have slighted them in interview requests. As an example, some of the stuff I've read on that site in the past, it would appear there is a bit of a vendetta held against the Hamilton brothers (I believe one of the writers even admitting to hating Freddie in an article).
But yeah, just not a well written article. Spelling errors of players (Puempel, Maatta, to name a few), to go with the ridiculous assertions above made it a weak read and I expect much better from that blog. Seems like an author trying to stretch some things to make for a more exciting read.
For a better read, I'd check out Terry Doyle's Deadline Previews

Yeah... the Ice Dogs are NOT trading the Hamilton brothers. LMAO. The family moved to the are because they love it, and Dougie refused to play for any other team if drafted. They love Niagara, so they don't want out.
And the team is building to win this year. I don't see any possible deal out there where trading the most well-rounded defenseman in the OHL plus a quality 19 year old scorer who can play in all positions, could benefit the team.
The ONLY way that rumour could POSSIBLY make sense, and this is a STRETCH, is if Niagara wants to try to host the Memorial Cup in 2014 with the new arena (and is willing to sell this season away to make it happen), and the deal would involve Ekblad ++ coming back from Barrie. However... if that were the case... Mercer wouldn't be on his way out. lol.
Also Cullen to London might be done Tonight or Early Tomorrow. Hear Czinder and either Feasey, Deeley, or Calderone to go to Ottawa as they really want Czinder. WR does not want to trade Posa or Koko this year as he want to try and hold on to them as long as possible because he believes they can make the Playoffs.
According to Loosepucks Spooner to Sarnia and McKegg to Niagra and According to Gene Periera Jenkins to Fronts for picks, Brown from Fronts to Sarnia for picks,JP Anderson to Sarnia for Maxwell and picks and Ritchie to Niagra for picks.....Deals NOT finalized so anything can happen

I believe Brown and Spooner will go To Sarnia in 1 Deal not 2 different deals. Maxwell and Picks to Miss for Anderson makes sence as they want Martin to be the starter next season but why not include Thomas who JB told to go home?? any flyers on him? maybe he goes in one of the deals. Dont forget Czinder is getting asked about alot from Ottawa while i hear Alonge or Feasey could go with him

Maxwell to Majors mean we gotta drop one of our current OA's
hopefully not Wise
lets see what happens
No they could Cut Maxwell and let him go sign with any other OHL team that does not have 3 OA's Maybe London if they dont get Cullen but from what i here they want Cullen
I'd take Maxwell over Cullen every day of the week! Missy would be wise to keep Maxwell...you can;t give the reins to the 16yo Martin....that's a disaster waiting to happen. Just look at Teichman, Zador, and Bailie...
