They could have played stronger at times against a weak islanders team. I am happy they won, but they can't let a **** team take momentum after just scoring a goal, and letting them hem the Rangers up in their own zone for 2 minutes, regardless of blocks and defensive plays.

We are winning all of these games without Richards too. Has anyone noticed his slump? Because we're winning, probably not, but its worth noting that Richards has just 2g 0a +/- 0 in his last 9 games. Definitely should be mentioned. For $12 million this year and a $6.9 million cap hit, thats not cutting it.
Del Zotto is playing very well. 2 more assists and plus 2 again. Hagelin is a player, and Hank is in the zone. Did not play their best, but got a shutout. Now a couple onthe road and then embarrass the Flyers in their own stadium.
MDZ is starting to make Leetch-like plays...he's becoming the best offensive D-man this organization has produced since the days of Leetchie and Zubie.

Richards will get it going at some point but yeah right now last 9 games he hasn't been great so to speak.
And, BTW, with games like this and Del Zotto's play, this kid should get serious consideration for the all-star game. 15th in PTS amongst all defense man and 1st in +/-. Del Zotto, Gaborik and Lundqvist should all get all-star recognition.
Good teams win when they don't play all that great, and this wasn't a great effort (except for MDZ, Hagelin, Hank, Boyle and one or two others). Also, Islanders had Parenteau, Moulson,
Taveras on the ice half the game - they'll lose their next game 6-1.
Am loving this season so far, but (for Puckface) see Messier, Mark, Graves, Adam,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,etc. Let's not get crazy, yet.
I would have argued about you putting Callahan there, but I noticed it may have been a mistake since you didn't vote for him.

Yes. I've noticed. To be honest, I haven't been impressed with him all that much. Even strength, his alright. The power play is a lot better cause of him at the same time.

I'll judge him once I see what he does in the playoffs.
Hagelin's play is a direct positive result of Tortorella's coaching. He did not play the same game at Michigan at all.
Torts told the young kid in his first callup to be a gunner, forechecker and chase the puck,, and it has had a big impact on the success of the Rangers.
He is the first man in on every forecheck and usually the first guy back on every backcheck. The stamina is incredible.
