I honestly don't know, and it's something i've been thinking.

Staal deserves it, but Girardi has proven he deserves it too.

I voted Girardi, just cause I think Staal is extremely over rated,But realistically it will be going back to Staal,he had it first and you just cant not give it back, thats not right.

Staal, but my feeling is you could see 4 As. Know that it's not Tort's style but Girardi certainly deserves it.

Do you think this is possible: Girardi gets to keep it for the rest of this season. Staal gets it back for next year. I can't see Girardi getting stripped of the A midseason.

Staal gets it.

More importantly, noone will care on the team. Its just a couple of extra stitches.

Last year when Prospal was out for the beginning of the season and Torts gave Staal the 2nd A, Staal didnt give it back once Prospal returned.
Different situation this year because Staal and Girardi are both in the long term plans. Maybe a rotation, 2 home and 2 away "A"s if we can find a fourth

Overrated or not, I hope you realize Staal is better.

I realize some people do not, and it makes me sad that fellow fans cant see it.

Definitely Staal, but it would be awesome if Staal didn't accept it and gave it to Girardi.

you don't lose an A because of injury. Girardi understands hes keeping it warm for Staal. no controversy, no debate, no question.

Honestly man,to me, Girardi was in Staals shadow and now that there is no Staal,Girardi is shining amd showing what type of undrafted player he is..

What I want to hear is "why people say Staal is better" or "Why Staal is so great"? It definitly is not offensively,is very very good defensively ( but so are Sauer,McD and Girardi)defensively.. What confuses me is all the hype Staal gets.I also think McDonagh will be better than Staal and think Sauer if he can stay healthy will be better as well.

this is all just my opinion. This is also why Im a construction worker and not G.M of the NYR's,lol

I wouldn't be opposed to a home and away system with the As. Doubt Torts would go for it though.

Players don't need to see an A on Girardi's shoulder to respect what he does for the team on and off the ice... Staal will get the A back and the issue will be a 'non-issue' for the players & the organization.

u dont take an A away from a guy who gets hurt, if they want to add another A sure.....I see nothing wrong with 2 A's on the road and 2 A's at home

I agree u can't take Staal's A cuz he is injured, but Girardi has earned the A and deserves to keep it. Just wouldn't be fair either way. 4 A's please.

A player doesn't need a C or an A on their chest to be a leader or to be looked up to by other players, girardi's leading this defensive corps right now and will continue to do so when staal comes back, their both leaders, they both know it and they probably really don't care whose wearing a letter they both have the same intentions for the team and are both leaders. I wouldn't be surprised if girardi voluntarily gives it back to staal when he gets back anyway.
