Problem is Connolly's strong position is Phaneuf's position. Connolly was awkward to me when he playing the right side on the point.

for the record, u can have concussion like symptoms and not have a concussion. Headaches are a concussion like symptom. If I get a headache tonight do I have a concussion? Probably not. He could just be getting these naturally but they are common symptoms to a concussion. Thats what it means.

Concussion like symptoms is not an actual medical diagnosis but it seems pretty common sense unless you try to read way more into it than necessary. Concussions are a delicate thing to evaluate and diagnose. It's primarily based on the reported symptoms, the combination of those symptoms and the frequency/degree in which they are experienced.

Nobody knows what symptoms he's exhibiting or how painful it is. Saying that the symptoms are concussion-like is to be on the side of caution by acknowledging and monitoring the symptoms that can be related to a concussion but not enough evidence is there to make an official diagnosis.

Yeah, because if a tough guy was dressed, Liles wouldn't have been hit right....?

Get a grip of reality - this isn't NHL 12, genius.

Disappointing to see him down. As always, hopefully not out for too long. Will be a loss to our PP, but it probably means slightly more PP time for guys like Gardiner and Franson, which isn't a bad secondary option to have at all - especially Franson, who in the last few games before the Xmas break, seemed to be having much more success with getting his shot on net.

Well that totally sucks. Hopefully he comes back soon as he's been a nice surprise for the team this year.

Like how Reimer had concussion like symptoms but did not have a concussion?

It's all semantics to me.

Can you have broken-leg like symptoms? Of course not - you either have a broken leg, or you don't have a broken leg. If you don't have a broken leg, then you have a sore leg.

If you don't have a concussion, you have a headache.

And are we so sure Reimer didn't have a concussion? His treatment was equivalent to that someone would receive if he had a concussion, and his concussion history seemed particularly relevant at the time.

On a quick note - been meaning to say it for a while, but just slipped my mind; a 2nd for this guy is a great price in my opinion.

He's far more valuable than that - he could fetch more than a 2nd right now I reckon. Not saying we should (or will trade him), but it's a good indicator of how his value has increased.

Can't help but feel a 2nd rounder for him is a bit of a steal

Wow. This is terrible news, not unexpected at all, in fact, I thought that's what was going on as soon as I saw the hit. That was monstrous. This could be a big deal against us.

No way. Blacker has to earn it first. He is much lower on the depth cart right now. Next year he might get a callup but I doubt this year.

What if he has some symptoms of a concussion such as headache and nausea, but is showing up normal cognitive ability on the impact testing compared to his baseline, suggesting no brain damage and therefore no concussion? Concussions are not cut and dry, like you said. You cant xray like you would a fracture. Doctors may want to take precaution before throwing around the "C-word".

Concussion-like sounds precautionary. Symptoms can come and go and he may not definitely have a concussion, but they are continuously monitoring him to see if cognitive ability declines.

This is a pretty big blow to our breakout. We'll miss his ability to jump up in the play aswell. Just means more icetime to see what Silver can do.

Hope it's nothing too serious and that he recovers soon.

He's still developing and needs lots more icetime at the AHL level. Only shot he has at seeing the nhl this year is if we're completely out of the running at the end of the season.

Damn. Hope he recovers quickly.

I can't say I'm surprised, he got hit really hard.
