Can Versteeg get a shorty already? He deserves one.

The penalty on Cullen is an unlucky break and ridiculously stupid. It shouldn't even be a rule. If he just so happens to take a step forward, it's not even a penalty.

Is it just me or does it seem that we're winning despite the zebras tonight? A couple really "skinny" calls on the Panthers in the 3rd. Meanwhile Steeg and Repik have had times they were wearing a Leaf suit and nothing...

I'm glad to see our mish mash of players pull it together and win, we needed it.

Those linesmen were terrible tonight, there were times where it was icing and it wasn't called, and it was against both us and leafs so it wasn't biased. The refs though. There was bias out there, at the 5:00 Repik was hooked and couldn't get the shot he wanted off, ref standing right there 5 feet away, no call. He's gotta call that after the gimpy call he made against Flash.

Well look what we can do against the #1 All-Star goalie, All-Star defense-men, and #1 All-Star forward.

Now get healthy guys for Friday. I'll be there in sec 133.

Very exciting game to watch. I'm extremely proud of the entire team with a total effort from everyone to get the win. The Leafs played us tough for sure. The call-ups for the most part really tried hard to show that they could play at the NHL level. Versteeg was all over the ice and this might have been the best game I've seen Jovo play all season. Theodore kept us in it with some big saves.

I'd love to play the Leafs in the playoffs since I could see it being an absolute terrific series. We have their number over the past few seasons, but I do think it would go to 6 or 7 games for sure with similar built teams.

I hope that Weiss is back in time for Friday's game and I wonder what the status of Sturm, Samuelsson, and Bergy are. We'll certainly need as much effort against the Rangers as possible

Funny thing said on sports central for the leafs: It's hard for the Leafs to get motivated in 80 degree weather. That's the most pathetic excuse I've ever heard. They lost to a team full of AHLers, there is no excuse for that.

I can't say I'm surprised by that comment. We could win 5 straight Cups and since we're a Sunbelt team, we'll never get the respect that we deserve.

Things that stood out to me tonight.

-The 5-3 score doesn't indicate what Theodore meant in this game. Game was a bit sloppy for both teams; Theo made some big saves (and got some help from his friend, the goalpost).

-Repik and Versteeg were our best forwards.

-Jovo woke up on the wrong side of the bed. He should play like that more often. Every time someone got near Theodore, Jovanovski was ready to hurt somebody with his angry face. I was kinda worried he would score one on our own net because he had the puck near the net and was looking aggressive with it.

-Campbell to Garrison is money.

-Flash needs to get back to early season form. That goal was bad goaltending. Flash is one of our best, probably our most skilled forward.

-I like Kopecky's effort. It's noticeable when he's on the ice, as he's pretty relentless (last minutes of the game, for example). With that said, he plays rather dumb and it's now led to a -13. That's no coincidence. Everyone turns the puck over, but his turnovers are usually the worst.

-Agreed with the previous poster who said Kulikov was rather meh tonight.

-I like Kennedy's game. Maybe not for this team, but I do think he's an NHL'er. It's a shame he's not bigger.

Gutsy win tonight.

- Probably can put a half chalk up point in the Jose stealing us a win category. He played awesome, he deserved the steal win. If it weren't for Riemer being so sucky, he would have been first star, no contest.

- Garrison played well, lots of jump in his game tonight, especially with the rush.

- Can't say enough good things about Thomas, helluva game!!

- Kuli & Weaver didn't see much time tonight, which is odd. Both were very invisible on the ice.

- Santo earned himself another night centering the second line I think, unless Weiss comes back. Hustled his butt off tonight, and played the body.

- And now I'm just repeating myself, but must be mentioned again, Repik and Kennedy had very good games. Pretty much just sealed the fate for Daddy to be the first to be sent back down. Unless its a center back first, then I would assume Cullen maybe. (Pretty weak call on his DOG penalty, looked like it might of touched the Leafs player stick).

LOVE beating the Leafs

Disagree on this point (FWIW, I think you're spot on with all the others). That fake on the slapper made Gustavsson commit and let Flash pick where he was going to put it on the follow through.

Best game in Repik's career, by a mile.. After he got lucky with that bounce, he really seemed to have a great deal of confidence... Holding the puck along the boards, being patient, making nice passes and really using his speed.. Would be nice if he could figure it out

Always nice to pound on the Leafs. Listening to the Leafs homer announcers all night...sounded like we lost or deserved to anyway Just because we scored those three goals in like four minutes does not mean the Leafs owned the rest of the game. I thought we were deadly on the PK and had better scoring chances than the Leafs when they were on the PP (we are missing a ton of our PK guys too due to injuries). I know the Leafs have 5 or 6 guys out, but not the impact players that we have out by any means. The Leafs are not built for the playoffs with porous defense and shaky tenders. I don't think the Panthers need to win the division to get into the playoffs (better than the Leafs,Sens,Devils,Lightning and Jets just to name a few...when healthy of course).

Guds played his best game tonight since being in a Panthers uniform. Steeg looked soild for most of the night. Flash was not at his best, but still contributed on the scoresheet. The Leafs were the first team in awhile that did not scout Garrison on the PP, bad coaching there to give him that much time and space.
