Yup, we're caught in a trap (and yes, I know Minny don't play the trap anymore but I don't care, still using that song). Important division game here.

#1 Rule: GDT's before the actual game day MUST be Pre-Game threads.
#2 Rule: Pre-GDT's, for the sake of keeping conversation productive, never usually do well if they're made more than a day in advance.
#3 Rule: The more off topic the original post is, the more likely the entire thread is to veer off topic.

gonna miss the sillyness of the GDT's before the game, always enjoyed them!

OT since this is the GDT thread, big game for the Avs and co, win this and were within 2 of 8th spot, lose and were just another .500 team. Minny has stuggled lately, we need to go and score a couple quick ones and keep the pressure on them.

3-2 Avs, goals from Radar Stas and Silent J.

The Wild must lose. Avs must win. Simple equation.

Merry Christmas.

Would it be already the time to cut the streak?

Another loss in the Northwest division coming up. We'll be 1-10 against divisional opponents after this one.

Best pre-GDT thread yet. I'm sick of those crappy dubstep vids. Damn hipster kids.

I hope the avs win. If scratcho has a blank look on his face and is constantly staring at the scoreboard/jumbotron this is another western conference loss.

I want the avs to have some road win mojo again because I'm going to do a road trip to the anaheim ducks versus avs game on new years eve. Got a buddy that will watch over my house and dog and host my NYE party without me.

This will be the game that ends Minny's skid, and starts the Avs again.

Dam, we're horrible in division games.

I don't even hate dubstep but yeah there's been way too much of it lately

Divisional game so this is basically a guaranteed loss. They really need to figure that out, can't keep getting owned by the likes of Edm, Calgary, and Minny.

Have they said who's gettin the start in net? I want to see varlamov get another chance after the price we paid, as for predictions I'm hoping that the avs get it done, crutial points at stake. Can't wait for puck drop. And happy holidays to everyone

Mike Yeo has stated publicly that he does in fact employ the trap system. So yes, the Wild do trap.

I get that we sucked in division matches, but we're on a roll here. I think we'll win this one. We've played some tough, gritty hockey lately. Lets keep it going!

My guess is that most people have the day off and it's easier on non-Mountain time zones.

Although, my guess would be better if there weren't games like Columbus / Chicago at 8:30 EST, or PST teams like Anaheim and San Jose at 10:30 EST.

Maybe they didn't want to conflict with the USA World Junior game later that night. They love their hockey in Minnesota.

Trying to pick b/t watching the Canada junior game on TSN on a tape delay and this game. I probably won't be able to watch that one live and I know if I watch this one first, someone/somewhere will spoil the score. Hopefully it goes up online later for dl because I've grown a fetish for watching Minnesota this season.

Btw, odds that Jared Spurgeon out-muscles/competes all of our "bigger forwards"?

I'm just happy the WJC game is at 3 and avs at 6 (EST), works out perfect for me.

A semi-early game? Sweet. I haven't watched the Avs in a month.
