Anyone know if there's a national radio station or a way for me to listen on 3G(iPhone) ?
I'm driving from Detroit to Pittsburgh tonight.

If Ovy doesn't score, I hope he hits the hell out of everything and has targets marked.

Biron to start...

Another back-up chosen vs Caps. No respect. No fear. Will Caps ever care?

I will be at work when this game is on. Can't say any curse words out loud as it might make the patrons mad and I can get in trouble

I have a bad feeling in my stomach about this game. I feel if we lose this game, it will be very hard for this team to make it to the playoffs this year unless something drastic will change

While we've played less games, we've had a favorable schedule with few back to backs and 3 in 4 days. Well. Here comes the double edge sword.

We have 3 in 4 days. A chance for 6 points quickly. But also a chance to rack up games played without moving much. Big week.

That's a little harsh. I think the plan has been working to fruition until last year's playoffs. Last year and this year were probably the best reasonable targets for the Caps to compete for a Cup. Something has gone terribly wrong. My gut tells me it's Ovie's leadership. I love the guy but it's time to take the pressure off him, drop the C on someone else and let him focus on scoring. Until then, the Caps continue to slide.

5-2 Rags.

That was their plan. Doesn't mean it was right nor that it wasn't wasting. Once they realized what they had in Ovi, they continued to waste 2 years of cheap contract / high performace and surrounded him with slugs. They allowed him to take over locker room as a young kid without any solid, winning mentors.

They chose the patient game... and its blowing up in their faces. NOW is the time to grow up management says. Now... Which means, before they accepted wasting time.

You want Dan Snyder or Jerry Jones running the Caps?

Give me a break.

Hey guys I'm not here to troll. But what the hell has gone wrong with this team? After the signing of Vokoun I expected them to roll over every single team. I've noticed that Vokoun hasn't been playing well, but what has happens to Ovie? I mean he obv not putting up the numbers he used to.. Is he injured or something or he just looks shot out there?

Nevertheless I am still **** scared of this team to explode out of no where.. I expect a hard fought game to the fullest.

I hope you guys pick it up and good luck to the rest of your season!

Idk, but in my opinion this leadership thing is starting to get silly... So if OV haven't played well by his standards does it mean that he is all of a sudden a horrible leader? I don't think so... Look at our rivals, Crosby barely played in a year and his team is still winning, is it because he is such an incredible leader? ...And how about Iginla? Leadership personified, isn't he? Led the team in points for 10 straight years, what have they won? i think there is more to the whole team concept than 1 ****ing guy, even if he is OV.

Biron has been a stud this year against pretty much everyone.

This is no knock on the Capitals. Torts just has faith in his goalies.

you can tell from his effort and his comments that 1) laich cares a lot, and 2) he, like us, knows many others dont give a ****.

biron starting will either end up saving or costing me a couple hundy. maybe a lucky break for the caps.

Listening to his interview yesteday, I get the impression that he is pretty bitter about BB getting canned. He was pretty adamant in saying that its the little things/effort that need to be there from every player, every night, and went on to say that its on the players, not coaches.

Also, I'm not part of the strip 8 of the C crowd, but it is kind of ridiculous how little he talks to the media like Laich does. If I didn't know Ovy was the captain, at this point I wouldn't have any reason to think it was him

Where to start... This is just IMO

1.) Lack of transition game without Mike Green - This team has never been the most disciplined, fundamentally sound team... they got by largely on talent, and Green was a huge part of that.. without him on the ice they tend to spend a lot of time in their own zone floundering around (for our other transition D -Wideman is inconsistent defensively and Calrson is in a bit of a sophomore slump), and when combined with....
2.) Average, at best, goaltending, this leads to a lot of goals against... There was an article I think on Jasper's Rink stating that the teams record is fairly solid when they get .900+ (I think) SVP from their goalies... This wouldn't be as big of a problem if they didn't have...
3.) A lack of top-6 scoring... Ovechkins struggles have been pretty well covered in the media, and Semin has only recently started coming around, but he pulls this Jeckyll and Hyde routine every year.

These are just things I've noticed, and they seem to be common complaints

Laich may say all the right things but he doesn't exactly back it up on the ice most of the time.

Cause he plays with passion and heart every night? Not good enough?

What makes you think he plays with any more passion or heart every night than say someone like Semin? Just because he's a mouthpiece for the team and comes out and says all the "right things" doesn't make him any better on the ice.
