Nah.... you can clearly see Laich. He's the one aiming for the goalie's crest.

I thought that was Semin. Or is he the one aiming for the glass behind the net?

I have no idea what to expect tonight, I'd like to think things couldn't get any worse but this year I'm always proven wrong.

Such a sniper!

Truth though you have to let snipers like Semin take some risks in certain situations. But that's not in a 1-0 game on the PP just as the zone is gained. I do blame a little on the left opposite point D for not knowing that semin plans to miss high and wide and he should be at the boards ready.

I thought that was Ovy? Or is he the one aiming for the defender's shin guards?

This could get fun.

Nevertheless I am still **** scared of this team to explode out of no where.. I expect a hard fought game to the fullest.

I hope you guys pick it up and good luck to the rest of your season!

He plays hard and he is pretty good at a lot of stuff. The "problem" with Laich is that he isn't great at any of it. He cant carry a team, he needs the top line doing their thing to soften up the enemy, then he is effective, at both ends.

Hahah.

I appreciate what Laich says to the press but I only give it so much weight as, for me at least, it depends just how 'clutch' a player is and he's too inconsistent but that is on par with his historical production.

I wish Laich would step it up offensively and be more consistent to coincide with his words.

He has been great at times on the PK and he was adequate the game he played defense.

Laich is a great quote machine but that's about it. He needs to step up offensively and physically.

Honestly I think its time to give Laich a chance as a winger on the second line. I know that he was playing well with Ward and Chimera and has been centering Ovechkin the past couple games, but we paid the man, put him in a role for more than a handful of games where we expect him to produce offensively consistenly. I know in terms of center depth that pretty much leaves Perreault as our 4 C on a daily basis, but why not at this point. As well as the 25-21-42 line was playing, IMO we have too much invested in Laich to keep him there, he needs to be putting up numbers. Hell, at this point I think Chimera probably deserves a few games on the second line.

At this point our lack of a 2C/legit NHL calibre centers is pretty apparent anyway, might as well give it a try. None of the lines are clicking particularly well at this point anyway, so I don't really fear splitting them up/playing around a bit. I think the key though is that if Dale does mess with them, he needs to give them a chance, none of that crap BB was doing at the end where he was just shuffling them mid game.

Ovechkin-Backstrom-Semin
Laich-Johansson-Brouwer
Chimera-Halpern-Ward
Hendricks-Perreault-Knuble

Just stop playing lazy, uninspired hockey.
i don't even care if we lose, just play like you give a ****.
hell, play like you give half a ****.

oh, and also, try to take more than 25 shots, you'll be surprised what throwing the puck on net can do!

I just have an uneasy feeling a soft goal will start another implosion.

Would not be a bad time for someone stepping up and finally repaying Derek Stepan for his cheap hit - elbow to Mike Green's head from last season. I'm sure Dale Hunter would approve.
