They are basically the Fourth line now. Only should play them eight to nine minutes a night. Till they get tired of it and start playing better.

Decent first period. Kings PP is brutal. Kopitar is by himself on the halfwall and the rest of the skaters are standing still.

My god a voice of reason,

I thought the 1st period was fine, Crawford made some timely saves, and Quick played a helluva 1st period,

Both teams were doing good things, both teams screwed the pooch on others...

A scoreless period is a good period against this team.

I've seen Toews take his game to another level when called upon. We've seen some glimpses of that from Kopitar but he also has a knack for disappearing for long stretches. Toews reminds me a lot of Doug Gilmour, he pretty much does it all for his team.

I'll take a 40 minute game on the road, but those missed PPs are going to bite the Kings. They should be up 1-0 at least by now.

I know there are a lot of great goaltenders in the league, but I don't think there are any who make as many great plays in a row as flashy as Quick makes them look. He just makes them look great and spectacular.

Willie Mitchell needs to be resigned. That guy is such a rock on D. (watching some replay of the first). Mitchell breaks up a lot of plays with reach and smarts.

Crawford did have to make a couple of excellent saves on the Hawks penalty kills.

I've seen some bad Kings power plays and tonight's were far from the worst.

There hasn't been one single forward that I'd give a positive grade in first period. The old story, Kings are lucky to still hold the 0-0. And they will get a point only if it stays 0-0.

The Richardson-Kopitar-Brown line has been very effective forechecking since Sutter took over.

I'm thinking benched for his lackluster play.

Edit: Nope, he's back.
