Phaneuf Hit - How Many Games? (Disciplinary Hearing Tuesday)

Well? How many games for Phaneuf's hit on Miller tonight?

Remember:

Phaneuf has no discipline history.
There was no penalty on the play.

ZERO.

I have seen far worse hits not even get a penalty.

Like 1 game. Only reason theres so much interest in this hit is because everyone hates Phaneuf and the leafs are the largest fanbase in the NHL. If a Florida panther did a hit like that I doubt anyone would even care

Hopefully just 1.

Slightly off topic but if Clarkson gets 10 games for jumping off a bench then Thornton better get 25 games.

The 10 is automatic for leaving the bench?
Thornton will probably get around 10 too, NHL for ya

it was near the end of the period. Beregeron had his penalty, and Phaneuf hit .... (the guy who scored the third Boston goal- the rookie), into the lip of the boards. No call or anything.

(but it was an ugly hit).

Well if you want a breakdown incase you don't see it a dumb no name bruin had his head down looking at the puck for 5 seconds near the boards and Phaneuf pushed/pinned him resulting in his head hitting the boards. The leafs were down 2 goals with less than 2 mins left and he was trying to waste time along the boards, Phaneuf's hit wasn't even strong the bruin just didn't have any weight on his legs at all.

This shouldn't even be a suspension.

Leafs will be lucky if he doesn't get suspended at all but I don't suspect that will be the case. It looked bad and I hope his clean history will reduce the length...though that didn't really work in Kadri's favour. It's hard to know what to expect with Shanahan. Just like his predecessors, discipline continues to be inconsistent.

2 games I would say. Maybe 1 . Clarkson tripped Miller just before the hit causing Miller to fall a little bit just before the hit, which made it look worse then it was. Still a dirty hit in the numbers.

Didn't look that much worse than Seideberg's hit on D'Amigo in my opinion...

Kevan Miller, future star! He got one of the Bruins goals.

I think it will certainly be reviewed by the league and he might get a game for his actions.

If he didn't get anything then other would use this hit to make excuses for future hits like this.

maybe 2 games. Maybe more if the NHL takes into account the cry of bloody mary from some Bruins fans.
