Can one of the other mods or sponsors PM everyone who completed ATD2011 (meaning not the noobs who abandoned their teams) and didn't sign up yet? If nobody else has time, I'll get around to doing it eventually.
Dawson City Nuggets will return for another go-round.

I'd say another 4 confirmed GMs and we're ready to go.

That's a good number thus far with 2 weeks left before the start. I'm hoping for 32 teams to join.

Hey gang, I'll have to put myself down as "Undecided". I have a job now, and with the school semester just getting underway, I need a couple days to evaluate how much free time I think I'll have for the ATD.

If anything, I can always just be a Co-GM for someone should they want one

MadArcand, jkrx, nik jr, Stoneberg, DoMakc, JFA87-66-99, Modo, now arrbez...

Love you guys! It's awesome that you're still at it! among others.

I remind everyone that I am out of ATD 2012 as I was out of MLD 2011 as self-imposed punishment to atone for my sins. I hope everyone forgives me and welcomes me back to ATD 2013. I wish the best to the all-time draft and all its participants.

Have a good draft.

If VanI would be up for it, would we have him as a 'commissioner'? He could create the forums for us and keep on track of who is up and who to notify, if he'd be up for it.

I could be an "adminstrator", with no power, but responsibility to PM GMs about missed picks, updating the draft list, posting clock times. it would be like a work release program. Or community service.

Or not. Your guys' call. (Both EB and TDMM would have to sign off on it)

You really want the guy who created multiple accounts to vote for the rules he wanted last time to run the whole thing? Just.... No.

Edit: If VI wants to help out by PMing people or keeping track of clock times in an unofficial manner, that's cool. But I think it's best if he's not in charge of anything.

I dont see that there is a problem if he creates and maintains the draft thread. Its not like he can dictate anything. Maintaining the draft/roster thread isnt really something you can exploit.

If VanI wants to do the dirty work (PMs, updates etc) why not, but I agree about voting.

Sine it's guys like EB and TDMM that I need forgiveness most from (though it's hard when my intentions are misconstrued - I did not at any point plan to get another account to influence rule choice - that just happened suddenly, impulsively, regrettably), if they think 'no way' then it shouldn't happen. In fact, if anyone has any concern then I'll consider that veto power. The simple thing to do would be to bow out in any regard until ATD 2013 and then join as only a GM.

Certainly my reply to another guy's suggestion was not one of grabbing power but of doing 'grunt work', of 'administrating' not 'commishing', but indeed that is like letting the dog run around the backyard with a fence when it might be expected to stay in the doghouse for now! It will take another year before the dog can be taken out for a walk on a leash, to extend the metaphor. Please don't suggest the dog be put down for good. It ain't rabid!

As someone said, there needn't be any one to run the ship. Different guys can start different threads and maintain them. Yeah, it's a little work, but not much, and surely someone or the other would pick up the slack, though last ATD no one was PMing guys who missed picks and that resulted in a whole slew of skipped picks. Really, someone who misses their time window should - for maximum effectiveness - immediately receive a reminder PM, also a PM at the end of that round, as well as one the end of the following round, and ideally one when on the clock. That's how I rolled when I administered it in 2010 and earlier. Yes, it's the responsibility of each GM to pick and keep track of their clock but as any manager knows, it pays to be diligent and to give reminders and encouragement, to ensure the whole thing hums along efficiently.

For the record, I was one of the first to favor allowing you into AAA Draft 2011 with the stipulation that it said nothing about elligibility for ATD 2012. My reasonsing was that having you in the AAA Draft would make it better. But the ATD has lots of good GMs who only participate in the main draft and I think giving you an official position in administering the draft could be a distraction, which would make the draft worse.

Like I said, it's helpful to everyone if you want to send out reminder PMs and keep track of clocks, so I don't see how anyone would have a problem with that if you wish to do so.

So shall be my role this draft, if that's okay with all: assistant timekeeper.

That's what I was getting at, I don't think he should have close to any authority over deciding rules and such.

Considering how little fun the administrative tasks are for most people, if VanI is up to it, I don't see why we shouldn't let him handle the clock, PMs, etc. He was always quite good at it in the past.

I am out of this one, by the way. Like 70's, I strongly considered hanging em' up after my last win, but stayed in it because I thought it would be somehow more honorable to give someone the chance to beat me. And then I came back for 2011 because the league was at 40 teams. Unless the 2012 draft includes free lap dances, I think the ATD has run out of enticements for me, but I'll enjoy watching.

Woohoo, best incentive ever!

If someone wants/needs an assistant GM, feel free to knock on my door. If not, I'll be on the sidelines with Sturm watching the show.
