And if you think 2 of 13 is bad check out my collection. I have 35 jerseys and only 11 are still CBJ property. And if Nash goes that number goes down to 7. Also 3 of them are Mason jerseys. lol

It's the name on the front that matters not the name on the back to me.

Only gamer is the Dmac. I won it in his Christmas basket. Raffle ticket win $30, not the silent auction high roller deal. The other jerseys were from different raffles, gifts, etc.

I'll keep them, but thanks for the suggestion. It just struck me as sad/strange that so many are gone.

Ouch! Mason....

Yeah, I look at them as a collection of past favorites. Good memories. And, none are Mason!

I still love my Mason jerseys because the gamers are both rare goalie cuts and the authentic I have is a copy of his Calder season jersey with a rare JHM patch.

I usually look at a player moving on as the opportunity to retire the jersey and get a new one

I get that. Every sweater is its own story. That's the joy in collecting.

Could be worse...I know of someone who's trying to get at least one gamer of every style Mike Sillinger wore.

For those keeping track at home, I believe that's 41 different styles, including 7 extremely tough styles. Those are the Anaheim Wild Wing alternate, the Vancouver salmon alternate, the Tampa storm alternate, Nashville mustard alternate, Islanders throwback, and the St. Louis vintage.

The JHM patch is impossible to find. There were two extremely small production runs, and the aftermarket ones look just...well, let's just say "woefully inaccurate" is an understatement.

I still regret not getting more when I got the one for the Mason jersey. I wonder if the team still has all the ones they removered from all of the preseason jerseys from 08?

I get the feeling that the probable answer would be bitterly depressing.

As depressing as the entire set of 1977-78 Cleveland Barons jerseys ending up in a landfill? Probably not, but still...

Yeah I'm sure they are long gone and I bet they did not take their time removing them so who knows what shape the would be in.

and that's why you should feel ok about having jerseys of guys who are no longer here Also, get out of here with that 'true collector' nonsense! Whether you have 1 or 200, you're collecting!

I just did a count, and 13 (14 if you count Nash) of my 35 CBJ jerseys are still with the team. That number is inflated in both directions by having multiples of guys here and not here (Calvert and Voracek for instance).

The way I see it, each player, each jersey is a part of the history of the franchise I love. I don't have any problem having so many old guys, even stiffs like Richardson or Robert Kron because they all filled a role in the franchise at one point or another. Honestly, even today, I'd be ok having almost any jersey with the following exceptions (Chimera, Foote, Backman)...those should be self explanatory

I've passed on Foote sweaters twice while out at garage sales. You'd be surprised what people will sell at those things. Also passed on a Brule, probably shouldn't have @ $5.

My NEVER list would be Foote, Carter, and Umberger. I have an irrational disdain for Umberger.

(now ducking while anticipating Viqsi's wrath)

Couple new pick ups today.

First is a 2003-2004 Set 2 Game Worn Wight Jersey. This jersey has a number of repairs to each arm, tons of burns and a large repair that runs from the collar to the crest. I now have a Wright home, away and 3rd jersey from the 03-04 season.

Next up is everyone's favorite goalie. Mason 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 set 1 game worn 3rd jersey. I believe this is the only game worn 2010-2011 Set 1 in the hobby. This jersey was worn during the 10-11 season and then had the Vector logo covered over with a word mark patch and used again for the 11-12 season. The jersey has very good wear and I have been able to match it to many photos.

FWIW, if anyone's disappointed they missed out on the 2010-11 game issued Ryan Johansen #36 alternate/third, PM me. It may be available.

Top stories

I have a nice pile (41 in total) but here are my favorites due to the "story":

1) I do have Umberger's Playoff Jersey from the CBJ's first goal scored in Detroit. I still can't believe it was for sale. I was in Detroit for the game with a bunch of guys who rode up in a big Motor Home - - CBJ set it up. In a suite - - Really cool.

2) I have Nash's game worn/signed All Star Jersey from Atlanta where he got screwed out of MVP even though he had the fastest goal ever to start the AS game, and a hat trick. I was one of about 3 CBJ fan's in the arena, and his first goal came right at me (in the 3rd row right behind the goalie).

3) We won Brassards Jersey off his back a couple years ago, and I sent my son down with my wife to get it. Brassard is his favorite player, and I have gotten to know him pretty well playing in the CBJ golf outing with him for the last 2 years.

4) Svitov. Yep. I think the video of him kicking the snot out of Duncan Keith is one of the best. Svitov just held him up and kept pounding.... Mine is a game worn away (the pounding was at home), but it is here in my office and brings a smile to my face daily.

5) Find another one - - - Jason Williams game worn. My daughter was in love with him, so I bought it.

Lol. said the guys with a Robertsson jersey and god knows what Mayor has tucked away...

I would be ALL OVER an inaugural Timander, crappy player be damned. 37 is the year my dad was born and is one of my favorite numbers.

Oh don't get me wrong I love the odd ball jerseys, just odd that someone paid to have a Timander jerseys made up. BTW the E is all wrong on that jersey.

Edit also looks like the R is a little off too. lol

Edit 2 speaking of R's I just discovered that the R used on the Inaugural jerseys is different then what was used after 00-01.

What was the motive for the lettering change? Seems arbitrary.
