Fellow jersey nerds. Help me decide...I have been contemplating a trade for a month involving my Sanford third for a red Wisconsin Goloubef from the frozen four season. The biggest hang up I have is that it reminds me of Detroit. Value-wise, they are very equal because UW jerseys are quite tough. Any advice?
I wouldnt, unless its a player you must have. I would just want to keep anything Sanford.

Tough call, but I would do it for the following reasons:
1) No more Sanford around
2) There's a supply of other thirds, and probably will be in the future
3) Wisconsin jerseys (and North Dakota) traditionally hold their value fairly well, so even if Goloubef moves on you won't have any trouble moving it
But that's just me, and I don't have to make the decision.

2010-11 Renssaeler Polytechnic Institute Engineers Allen York Road (not many college mascots are better than that!)
2009-10 University of Wisconsin Badgers Cody Goloubef Road (Frozen Four patch sewn on, but they actually never wore this road set in the tournament) - the result of the trade I asked about earlier - I went through with it! no regrets, even if it does look like a red wings jersey. hope I don't get beer spilled on me before someone realizes what it is
The hack job just makes that jersey awesome. I wonder if stuff like that pisses players off.
I bet that it does. Wonder if he ever saw it misspelled?
Katy, that Kubalik is awesome. Totally makes the jersey, IMO. Charity jerseys are sometimes kind of boring, because they're all alike, but yours is uniquely different *and* of course, it's one of your faves!
And a stick tap to Jerod for getting it for you...he's a keeper I wish my better half would get me a jersey once in awhile!

I would be happy if my wife stopped asking, "Don't you have enough hockey jerseys?"
I often wonder if I appreciate enough my own wife, who never says this and never seems to have a problem with anything I acquire.
Oddly enough, she did ask me a few days ago how many jerseys I own. I didn't respond, mostly because I didn't know if it was a trap or not.
Your'e lucky. My wife does not like anything I do. lol We started dating during the last lock out and I often wonder if she would have maried me had she really known what she was getting into.

My wife got some advice from family members before we got married, talking about how "it's a struggle" and "you'll have those days where you just want to kill him". I go out of my way to make sure that advice comes true.
I don't think most women, going into marriage, expect the following conversation to take place.
Her: "Did you pay the electric bill?"
Him: "Look at what's now hanging in the closet, and ask that question again."
I was bored tonight so I made this. First row is the number font used for the 2000-2001 home and away jerseys, second row is the number font used for the home and away jerseys from the 2001-2002 season to present and the 3rd jersey font from 2003-2007 and the third row is the number font used for the 3rd jersey from 2010 to present.

BTW I started looking at name fonts tonight and have found that most of the letters used for the Inaugural Season are also slightly different from 2001-2002 to present. Also Inaugural Season font is 3 1/4 inches and 2001-2002 to present font is 3 inches.
Here is an example of some of the differences in letters.
Inaugural Season Jersey
R and N are different.
These photos are also a great example of how different 6100's are compared to Edge 2.0's.

I ended 2012 with a bang and picked up these three yesterday.
First up is a 2006 Draft jersey. This jersey was likely a back up that was never used. It does have a velcro strip sewn onto the back for a name plate and I am thinking about having a Brassard velcro nameplate made up to stick on there. I also found it interesting to find out that they used heat pressed on numbers for these jerseys.
Next is a jersey that I have wanted for many years. This is a 2008-2009 playoff set 3 Peca jersey with an A and JHM patch. This jersey was worn during the Jackets first ever playoff game.
Last is a jersey that you might have seen a few months back. This is a 2011-2012 set 1 Pahlsson 3rd jersey with a stitching error on the crest. Most of the E in Blue and half of the A in Jackets is missing. This jersey has been photomatched and was worn in at least 2 games. Thanks to Wooten for selling this to me.
I finished compiling information on number and letter font. One interesting find is that there were two N fonts used for 2000-2001. How lame am I that this is how a spent New Year Eve?
2000 to Present Numbers and Letters
The chart below shows all number fonts used from 2000 to present.
Row one shows the number font used for the 2000-2001 season only. These numbers were 11 1/2" tall and were reverse kiss cut.
Row Two shows the number font used from 2001-2002 to present on all home and away jerseys and also used on the 2003-2004 to 2006-2007 3rd jerseys. These numbers are 12" tall and are kiss cut.
Row three shows the number font used from 2010-2011 to present on all 3rd jerseys. These numbers are 12" tall and are kiss cut.
The charts below show all letter fonts used from 2000 to present.
Chart one shows the letter font used for the 2000-2001 season only. These letters were 3 1/4" tall. In addition to the letter being taller the other years there are also changes in the look of the letters. Most notably the letter R. Also there were two styles of N used as seen in the chart. Please note that I am missing examples of the following 2000-2001 letters: C, F, J, M, Q, X and Z.
Chart two show the letter font used from 2001-2002 to present on all home, away and 3rd jerseys. These letters are 3" tall.

Great charts! I think the second style "N" for the inaugurals is just an upside down U. Wouldn't surprise me at all if they used that when quickly creating a nameplate, or, just by mistake.
Glad you like the Pahlsson. The Peca is great as expected and as I told you yesterday, the draft jersey is a really nice piece of history!
