I remember as a teenager, we used to make fun of Phil Rizzuto calling the Yankee's games. Hell, Butchie makes Rizzuto sound like vintage Vin Scully.

I updated the OP. Seems like Butch is warmed up and ready to give us some good quotes.

This thread is amazing.

Want to loan us him for a few games to call between Steigy and Errey?

God bless Butch, I need something to be able to laugh at with this team that won't result in my crying tears of sadness

I wish we would have made a video for each Butchism, but I found one of our favorites:

If you are an old fart like me and remember Danny Galivan and Dick Irven calling the Leafs and Canadian games in the 80's and 90's--they would go complete period without mentioning a single player on the opposition team.

Against the oilers one night the call was "One oiler, up to the other oiler, back to the original oiler" it was Coffey to Anderson to Messier and Back to Coffey play and it was like the announcer was hell bent on only saying the names of the leafs that night

atleast butchie tries to say other peoples name

After getting only the Ottawa feed on Center Ice Tuesday, I fully expect to get the French Montreal broadcast tonight. I've only had Howie and Butch a handful of times this season. It's like they've been ostracized.

God I love this one. Butch makes some of these terrible games tolerable. I've noticed the real good Butchisms don't come til the third, which leads me to assume that Butch is hitting the flask during the game.

I love when he talked about Tuukka Rask a few games back. "Tush...Tuska...Tuska Rash".

So far tonight we've had:

"Thomas Zickey"

"Prust signed a four year deal at $10 million a year!"

"Evgeni Barakov"

I was too depressed after last night's game, but Butchie with Zibanejad cracked me up throughout the game. I can't even phonetically write what came out of his mouth.

Pacioretty's name was giving him all sorts of trouble. "Packeeoritty" "Patch-is-Ready"
