The volume of Butch-isms has declined since this was launched.

Either way, he's a total dumb-ass and this is easily my favorite thread on this board.

It is pretty amazing that I don't even listen to his banter cause I miss half of the Butch-isms that he launches. Occasionally, I need to rewind the DVR.

That said, his comment on W-I-N-N making up JT's DNA is absolutely classic.

What a **** ing moron.
Butch has been in a bit of a slump lately.
I'm sure he will break out very soon with a barrage of malapropisms ( or is it Butchery?).

well said.
I'm sure some of the older fans will remember a player named Garth Butcher.
I recall that name because we have both.

Posted this in the GDT. I keep forgetting about this thread during games but that's a keeper. I heard it, looked at my pop and we just shook our head. Then my dad goes "your nephew [who is 3] doesn't stumble over his words as much as this clown". Funny cuz its true

What is the "non-chanted" thing though? Some nites I work so I have to listen on radio(when it comes in). Is he trying to say nonchalant? Anything with a french twang to it will be destroyed by butcher. We all remember "penalty killer...excellante" hahaha. I laugh bc I don't wanna cry

Nice. Vancouver connection. Garth Butcher was acquitted of sexual assault in 2004.....I can only hope our Garth can be acquitted of emotionally assaulting the fanbase in a year or two.

Yep. Trying to say nonchalant, got excited and said nonchant.
Can you imagine the guys in the room when Butchie was head coach giving them a talking to in between periods? How many imitated him behind his back, mocking his language usage. And we think Cunnyworth has problems because he doesn't speak French? Butch has problems not speaking any complete language known in this world.
Part English, part Amerikan, part gibberish.

A classic mix up....Butch began talking about Drew Doughty and then refers to Howie as "Howdy" immediately after. What a guy

that's because your nephew never drank a 5th of Grey Goose while in the booth.

Last Saturday he said something like "the smooth rolling, bouncing puck..." and my sister who knows zip about hockey repeats what Butch said in shock and says "Does that guy know how stupid he sounds?"

I completely lost it.

I meant to write this here a few weeks ago...but I've been so busy due to tax season. I almost ran Butch over in the Westbury COSTCO parking lot earlier this month. I apologized to him and thanked him for his services to the Islanders. I think he was truly surprised that I recognized him...or it could have just been the shock of my bumper nearly clipping his knee!

True story.
