Jack Johnson and Drew Doughty were flat out awful tonight. Jack and his half-assed pinch allowed the Jets to get that odd-man break in overtime. Both of them couldn't pass the puck worth ****, and their reads on pretty much every single play out there tonight was just embarrassing. I can't get over how bad both of them were.
did either of them even shoot the puck on any pp?
Why Voynov wasnt sent out for the second half of the 5 on 3 after the first minute embarrassment is beyond me. He is our best pp point man so should be used more
Trevor Lewis has 1 point in 28 games this season, and Brad Richardson has 3 points in 28 games, yet these two play top 6 roles on our team. And we wonder why we can't score?
Because Penner/Williams/Gagne have been much better in the top 6 right? It's essentially a wash what garbage winger we throw up there. They all couldn't hit the net if it were a soccer goal.
Jack Johnson on the replay for the goal against again! Not saying it was his fault (looks like Richards did the old fly by on the wrong side of the net) but man this guy is always out there when the other team scores.
JJ had a weak-ass pinch, but Kane was Mitchell's man and he let him go. I can only assume he thought it was 5-on-5 and he was rotating coverage with the forward coming back instead of just staying man-on-man.
You work hard you will be rewarded sometimes; Kane was the best player on the ice (besides the goalies) tonight.
I thought the Kings worked just as hard, hence it was 0-0, stupid mistakes cost them. I saw nothing spectacular about Kane's play to call him the best player on the ice.

At least they all scored this year. Even Trent Hunter has two goals.
BACK to BACK on the ROAD in fact 3rd game in 4th night w/ lots of travel in between ... and we get 3 pts out of 4 on the road / 5 pts out of 6 last 3 games ... I can't be too upset.
Will be fun playing Winnipeg more often next year
I'm not even mad. Though the PP is huge disappointment. Glad the Kings got the point.
Same here, I didn't expect them to win this game. The Jets are very good at home.
Plus I have accepted that the roster is not good enough to win this year. The team needs TWO top six forwards still, also a bottom guy with some skill (thanks Bud Holloway).
The Kings are a fringe playoff team at best. Hopefully they can get into 8th-6th spot and get hot at the right time.
You never know.
Nothing is going to change unless Dean makes a blockbuster at the deadline.
Like Jack+ for Parise or picks/prospects for Semin.
The most confounding thing about this organization is that we haven't had a single forward come up from Manchester worth a **** in 5 years. Loktionov was supposed to be scoring help and he's been abysmal to be honest. We have an organizational philosophy based on building from within without anything coming from within. I don't get it.
to be fair, we havnt drafted any top players to come up. Moller was a mid draft pick, Loki was a late pick, Toffoli/Kozun/Vey all 2nd round or later, so we are hoping they turn into legit players rather than expecting them to. At least we have too much defensive depth to use though!!!!
I love having a nice young player in A-Mart sitting in the press box instead of being shopped to bring back a nice forward
1 point isn't bad, but it's never good to lose to teams like the thrashers when so many others are beating them.
I was excited about the PP at the start of the year, but this is the same thing as the last. The set up is so pathetic and Mike Richards is the only one who tries backdoor passes.
Sutter has the guys playing better, but they still aren't score. Now is time for a trade. It's Dean's move next.

We will only play them twice. Don't get used to it.

Trevor Lewis is complete garbage. It blows my mind that he gets paid to play professional hockey as a forward and can't score goals. I literally can't remember the last goal he scored. Was it in 2009?
I'd take Craig Johnson back on this team over Trevor Lewis. Hell, I think Nathan LaFayette was a more effective player than Lewis ever has been or ever will be.

Every other team finds guys from all over the place, undrafted, picked in middle rounds, and those guys play in the A and come up at some point to do the business. Our leading scorer in Manchester right now has 18 points and projects to 4th line duty at best. It's a scary thought.

Grinders and pluggers galore.
Don't get me wrong...I like Nolan and Cliche....but that IS a scary thought.
I pray Kitsyn, Weal, Toffoli, Vey can infuse a little skill when they get here and establish themselves.
I wonder if those dolts on the ice for the PP realize that standing and passing without any movement isn't going to create an open lane for them to get a shot through. Here's Barry Smith with some pointers. Go study the Red Wings PP.
