It was probably discussed at the deadline last year, but what were the key factors for Boyes potting 43 and 33 in St. Louis back to back years?

I'm assuming that the first column is goals and the other assists, correct? But either way, those are mind-boggling numbers...

first column is projected goals for this season, second one is how many they scored last season.

Okay thank you, thank you. They both are goals like you would probably think anyways first the projections and second last regular season goals.

Ohhh ok. Yikes.

Does anybody else think that this could be the year Vanek gets 50?! He got off to a great start and never really cooled off, just simmered. Very consistent. The second half of the season could be even better. The power play hasn't even really been his bread and butter yet this season, so if that heats up...look out!

Why would Kassian scoring 12 goals be a bad thing? The dude's a rook and played 2 months in the AHL since Juniors. Not only that, he's changed his playing style as well.

I'd be elated if he scored 10.

ToI and post-lockout on-ice freedom. Teams caught up on how to defend and a lot of players aren't producing as much. Kariya is a factor, but the overall obstruction crackdown opened things up for a lot of guys.

Theres an interesting urban legend out there surrounding Boyes goal drop off and the brand of stick he used. He was always very particular about his stick brand(cant for the life of me remember what brand it was) and the company went out of business forcing him to switch sticks and his goals have declined every year since...obviously this isnt the reasoning but it was interesting to read about lol

Well it's not good, and it's not ugly, so it's bad. I can't change it too: "The good, the nice, and the ugly" just so one rook looks good. It's the NHL, let him get used to BIG expectations.

If he thinks his 3 goals in 15 games is good enough, he's wrong. Having said all that I agree that he looks pretty good for a rookie and considering his late start to the season 10-15 goals would be very good.
