I don't agree much on what he has to say but at least he's entertaining. B-mac is alright, liked him better when he was with scotty in morning.
I agree. Taylor and B-Mac seem almost too happy to be working together. Constantly giggling and screwing up live ad spots with laughing fits. Although I got to admit they get me laughing too in an infectious kind of way. They're becoming Beavis and Butthead of prime time sports talk radio in Vancouver.
It's funny really how polarizing he is. I think he is an idiot but more than that, a total creep. If you've ever been around him drinking you'd agree. He had nothing of merit to say, not that anyone at 1040 does other than Mayenknecht.
The afternoon show is garbage now. I listen in the morning but can't handle BMac. For some reason he likes to think the people broadcasting the games were more important than the players competing in it.
team1040 really missed the boat when they could've had the kurtenbloggers move to an afternoon slot and go after a younger generation of fans that doesn't get the old 70s references...instead they go to nbcsports and while it's cool to have them still do a saturday afternoon show the station won't attract any new listeners with their current schedule
grass is always greener it seems with some thinking pratt was actually good...there's only so many times we can hear about the nhl conspiracy, or how much bettman is incompetent, or how much he hates burke, or his right-wing politics, or his escapades to the roxy, ect...
I totally called people missing Pratt on the afternoon show when everybody was nearly cheering when he got the boot.
But honestly, I like BMac. He's as good a partner for Taylor that TEAM has and I think he does a good job of keeping it listenable, he is familiar with many different sports and can hold a good conversation with people about it. That's something not a lot of people on 1040 can say.
I'm glad he's back and I hope they give him a show on CKNW. If nothing else it might force Team1040 to put out a better product. When MOJO radio (Or whatever it was called) was on the radio and the two stations were competing I think it made for better radio.
There are a couple of shows that I can't stand on 1040 anymore. Back in the day I used to listen from 6am-6pm every day.
What made the afternoon show so great was the contrast between Pratt and Taylor; they really brought out the best in each other. I love BMac too, but I just don't think he ads anything to the show that Taylor doesn't already does. Love him or hate him, the show isn't the same without Pratt.
One would have to think that Rogers will eventually enter the sports radio market in Vancouver. I have a hard time believing Pratt's career will die at CKNW like it has for Neil Mcrae and Dan Russell.
