This on an official team homepage.
A Boston journalist doesn't think Boston players are dirty?

I believe Marchand will get 3 games. Should get 4-5 though, but it's the Bruins here..

I'm skeptical that he'll get anything worse than a fine. Boston has turned injuring players and getting away with it into an art form.

He'll get nothing. It's only a telephone hearing, and the league loves to slobber all over the Bruins' knob.

That's because it's always an accident and they're always really sorry.

****, I was "hoping" it was a shoulder injury. Could be the end of the Salo Bomb.

Yes you probably did here is confirmation:

Quote:
Forward David Booth has been medically cleared to play, he is eligible to return to the line-up as soon as he feels ready. Vigneault said Booth has yet to approach him about being reinserted to the line-up.

Yup, now it's just whenever he feels good to play. Hopefully he's good to play against Florida though, a hattrick against them would be a nice return!

He flew to Florida with the team though. So that's a good thing

Uhhh...wouldn't a shoulder injury make it more likely to be the end of the Salo Bomb?! Anywho, Weber and Giroux recently only missed 4 games with a concussion. I'm hoping it's a short spell like those.

I'm thinking it's not as serious as we may expect. I'd rather him have a shoulder injury then a concussion though, easily.

Maybe. A shoulder injury definitely would have Salo out for at least a couple of months. With a concussion, he may be ready with a couple of weeks. It's not like Salo still has several seasons left in his career. I'd rather there be a chance that he's back early than be out an indefinite long period.

With this concussion though, I think the odds just shot through the roof that he's retiring after this season.

with a concussion. it's hard to predict how long salo could be out for. 2-3 weeks or maybe a month?

Since when is a concussion always just a few weeks of recovery and they're back? With a concussion, one more blow to the head, and hi career is done before you want it to end, and before HE wants it do end. He's an older guy, and if he suffers another concussion because he comes back too soon, he'll be done. He has a family, and he still has a life to live after hockey, and after seeing and hearing what Crosby, and Savard have been through specifically, I don't see him risking a life of pain for a few months of hockey.

At least with a shoulder injury, he knows he can come back.

If I recall, Hamhuis wasn't out more than a month. Shea Weber was out only for 2 weeks.

I don't think you have to worry about him coming back too soon. The doctors will make sure that when he passes all the medical tests, however long that takes.

Sami may have a minor one (like Giroux's) or one like Crosby's for all we know.

If it's just a minor concussion, it's still kind of scary because Sami has gone through a lot, but a concussion is easy to get again. One hit, and you're wondering if you're ever going to play again (after coming back from a concussion).

Or he could be back in less than a week as happened with Chris Phillips.

Concussions are entirely individual in recovery time.

Agreed, and I completely understand this point. Fortunately, Sami is nearing the end of this career and I would be shocked if he doesnt retire after this season. It wouldn't be worth playing one more season, risking a concussion.

Agreed. Sami has suffered so many injuries in his career, I'd honestly be very surprised if he came back after this season. He has a lot of miles on him, and a ton of injuries to prove it. I really want more information on the condition of his concussion though, as I want to know the extent of if he's really battling headaches or something. I want him back for the playoffs healthy and 100%, hence why we could use another top 4 defensemen if Ballard can't step in.

Sami looked like he needed a bit of a break from hockey anyways, unfortunately it's because of an injury instead of AV's saying.

Ring of Honor material for Sami for sure, IMO.

agreed on the nhl front.

i wouldn't be surprised to see him play in Europe for a year or two more. The game is less physical and his body could probably handle another season or two of that style of play. Given his skillset as well, he'd probably get some good money and lots of minutes for another season or two.
