i wouldn't be surprised to see him play in Europe for a year or two more. The game is less physical and his body could probably handle another season or two of that style of play. Given his skillset as well, he'd probably get some good money and lots of minutes for another season or two.
With Salo I think it's just bad luck. If he goes to play in Europe he might get clipped by a cable car while walking on the streets or get bitten by a rabid dog.

I always find it hard not to laugh at those type of injuries. It's like Havlat's this year, hurt himself jumping the boards.

Salo is a warrior, albeit a very fragile one. The problem with concussions is they aren't an injury you can play through. I'm pretty confident Salo won't be out long, but who knows. More often then not it's the secondary impact syndrome that cause these long playing droughts with concussions, if dealt with properly the initial concussion isn't nearly as big of a deal.

You might sustain a back injury like Dustin Penner reaching for your wife's delicious pancakes - I do not think he meant it as an euphemism.
"I just leaned over to dip into some delicious pancakes that my wife made. Itís just like it [the pain] wraps around you and squeezes. Ö So it was disappointing. Hopefully itís just an isolated incident, and not something thatís going to become chronic.Ē

One of the more serious NHL medical issues - chronic pancake consumption.

LOL, Penner. Is that a real quote? "Delicious pancakes." Am I the only one who heard this in a Homer Simpson voice over? Jeeze...Fatty McGee over there.

Are you sure this isn't Kyle Wellwood you're talking about?

Penner's been playing like he's eating the pancakes between periods.

Welp, Penner out of the Kings lineup is likely more help than in.

Why is this the first I'm hearing of Dustin Penner injured while eating pancakes?

exactly. I would have been happier with some sort of injury that had a more defined return time.

Thought we could see him return any day we could also never see him return again... very frustrating to someone who has been having a great season

Has Salo been sent back home or is he travelling with the team still?

Salo should still be with the team.

Booth: knee healing, but it's still sore. Will take the Thursday morning skate in St. Louis, then decide if he's ready to play the Western Conference showdown against the surging Blues.

Ebbett: successfully underwent surgery on Sunday but is expected to miss the rest of the season unless the Canucks go deep into the playoffs.

Sucks for Ebbett. He was playing pretty well. If this is the case, though, then I'd like to see the Canucks bring up a better long term solution from the farm than Duco. Come to think of it, however, there really aren't any better options. Mancari played decent when called up but nothing special and I can't see the Canucks calling up Schroeder or Rodin, as much as I'd like to see them get a cup of tea in the NHL, as they're more raw prospects and not the bottom 6 fillers the Canucks need.

I'm guessing what we'll see is someone else brought in at the deadline, likely just a 4th liner of some sort, and Weise will become the 13th forward.

D. Sedin - H. Sedin - Burrows
Booth - Kesler - Higgins
Raymond - Hodgson - Hansen
_______ - Malhotra - Lapierre
Weise

It was probably a Yaletown-sized dog, so no worries there.

No Kes or Salo @ practice.

Looks like Hodgson is centering a line with Higgins and Booth.

As per Canucks twitter.

Hrm, Kesler caught that stick in the face last game, and was bloodied. Hopefully just a maintenance day for him.
