FYI... Big news so far is Duco is a scratch 1 night after picking up his 1st hat trick with #ChicagoWolves. Word is he's headed to @VanCanucks.

From Jim Jamieson of the Sun.

Full out Florida reunion.

I guess Booth isn't ready yet... that's too bad.

But Luongo, Sulzer, Ballard, Higgins, and now Duco being called up.
Too bad we can't call up Oreskovich, too.

If Booth were good to go, we could ice the all ex-Panther starting lineup of:

Booth Duco Higgins
Sulzer Ballard
Luongo

I don't think Salo's injury is that serious... I mean if it is shouldn't he either be staying in Boston or head back to Vancouver for evaluation/treatment rather than go to Florida with the team.

I really hope Salo is okay. We need to win him a cup, one of the last players on the WCE era.

I'm just worried about the possible concussion for Salo most of all. It looked like he hit his head on the ice with quite some force... ******* Marchand.

Sucks for Ebbett too as I thought he had a chance to gel on the 4th line and has been a nice surprise for us this year. Hope the recovery won't be too long.

I think Duco is a clown. He comes across as undisciplined and stupid.

If he shows he can play a good energy 4th line role, that would be nice. But I don't want him there for his antics.

Duco can be effective but he needs to quit the antics. He would have been annihilated today.

Possible concussion for Salo. I wouldn't be surprised if there was some sort of shoulder injury to go along with that.

Angry Canucks GM Mike Gillis on Marchand hit: "Dirty play by a dirty player." Sami Salo will be looked at for a possible concussion.

EFF you boston. This sucks for Salo. He stayed health all season to only get taken out by a rat.

I am a huge Salo fan. He plays the game with such integrity. Proud to say he is a Canuck and I hope the Canucks will take care of this player for a long time. Ring of Honour for sure.

I feel sick and I detest Marchand even more than I can imagine. You compare the two, Salo and Marchand. Shame to even have the names in the same sentence.

I guess escaping with even just no injuries was too much to ask for in this game. Shouldn't he not be flying if it's a possible concussion though?

And **** that little punk. I hope he gets suspended though I'm not holding my breath.

Salo was most likely irate because he knew the hype about this game and the possibilities of injuries. The fact that it happened to him, again, probably pissed him off massively.

Claude Julien on Marchands dirty **** on Salo
Quote:
"We all have our opinions with what is going on with the game and the hits and everything else," said Julien. "All I'm gonna tell you is that, I have always told my players that they need to protect themselves. The last thing I want my players to do is to get hit and then end up with a concussion, and they have to protect themselves.

"Whether it's the right way or the wrong way, it'll depend on how the league looks at it. But I'd rather have a guy take a two-minute penalty than turn his back to the play, stand up straight, and then get his face knocked into the glass, and be out for the rest of the year with a concussion, or maybe end a career, like Savard.

"In my opinion, if guys start protecting themselves the way Marchand did, maybe guys will stop taking runs at other guys."
So Salo was making a run at MARCHAND and MARCHAND was only protecting himself and that more of their players should have done the same in the game to protect themselves??? What a joke...

He tries to be professional and says the right things but to me this response leaks disrespect...

I hope he's saying that to juice the most out of a suspension much like they did to us with the Horton hit.

But, if true, there isn't a player least deserving of these injuries than Sami Salo. He is far and away one of the most gentlemanly players in the NHL who plays the game with a ton of respect.

A bit of a misuse by Julien, but in the context of the situation, bread and butter means what the Canucks are good at. Normally means what you earn your income from.

I.E Bruins' bread and butter is 5 on 5 play.

CJ also said he would never have his players do the finger taunting and the next game they do it. When Marchand gets his he will be singing a different tune

total hypocrite

I really wanna see K-con get a few games in the NHL as a reward for his play this year.

Canucks could use some young blood energy, after that emotional war.

I thought he might have sustained a shoulder injury but on the latest photo gallery at Canucks.com, there's a photo of Salo with a group of other Canucks catching their plane to Florida. Didn't look none the worse for wear so I don't believe its a serious injury. Sorry, no idea how to link the photo on my iphone.

Edit: yeah, that's the photo above.
