Price overworked?

Since December 15th...6 games...

1-5-0 22 GA 182 shots 3.72 GAA and .879

He's played 33 of 38 games so far, on pace for 71.

You must know what youre talking about Carey.

Keep up the good goaltending, our defense sucks.

Tell Gomez to take his time.

Happy new year.

Well we can't really trust Budaj so Price has a heavier workload as result.

I don't think he's overworked though. He just has ups and downs like the rest of the team. Normally i'd like to see him in nets for 60-65games but i'm not sure that's possible with Budaj as backup , especially if management still think it's possible to make the playoffs and want to win at all costs.

Considering that we are battling to get to the top 8, we need him almost every game.. with back-to-backs put in Budaj.

I wouldn't mind if they played Budaj quite a bit more this year. That being said, I'm also all in for a tank this season.

Shows what I think of Budaj.

To be fair to him ,except the last two game(and I can agree that 2nd goal last night was really really weak), the whole team was absolutely terrible during that stretch. I mean no way anyone can find a way to blame Price for letting in 4 during the Winnipeg game while the whole team barely looked NHL caliber in front of him.

But still agreed that he should play less, the season seems done anyway. Playing Budaj can only help the tank.

Budaj's numbers are better than CP the last 6 games...so a rested Budaj is better than a tired CP.

I think Budaj would have better numbers if he didn't go 3 weeks between starts also...hard to stay sharp playing so little.

The Phillie game is where he started looking tired, Giroux scoired twice on weak shots from bad angles.

Pretty sure he has bad stats because the whole team sucked since Martin was fired.

He shouldn't play more than 65, but he will.

OK, play Budaj more, but what games to give him, the next game vs. Carolina?

You can blame Gauthier on that one too. I personally never liked the Budaj signing. There were better goalies out there that could actually play 20 games a year against good competition as well.

Not taking anything away from Budaj...but I'm just not a fan of his.

Yes is overworked. He's 1st for games played, 4th for shots received and is stats are similar (slightly better or slightly worse, but similar) to the other goalies being overworked like him (Rinne, Ward, Pavelec, etc.) Quick is the only goalie that works a lot that as much better stats than them. Most top goalies in this league play less, there's a reason why.

Its easily to tell that he seems mentaly tired. The softies he gives are mental errors, not technique. And as a reminder, he is 25 years old only.

Cunneyworth does not play a tight D system like JM so you can expect Price to have worst numbers.

he's 23 yrs old , you can't work 3 hrs a week. I'm 52 and still playing goal 3 nights a week, give me a break. Price's problem is mental toughness, iv'e been saying since his world junior days

The kid got no break since the begin of the season, he has been let alone too many times, it was quite expectable..

really? didn't we just have a break at Christmas?

maybe in a month start this thread.

but overall I still say he is not overworked. HE hasn't played back to backs and he is still really young.

Carey is not a problem on this team in any way. The lack of a full team is the problem.
With the guys missing, there are too many top roles on the team being filled by guys that are not capable of filling those roles hence the 12th place standing at the moment.

Pretty sure the crappy beer league you play in pales in comparison to the NHL. But that's just my opinion.

Geez, and I bet you have a few beers before you step on the ice too. Damn, that's impressive. Maybe we can sign you to a contract.

So you've been saying this since he won the gold medal and since he won the Calder cup? Okay...

And I'm sure the pressure must be tremendous on you to perform in your beer league. Please, tell us more.
