Bozak just went hard into the boards here at #leafs practice, favouring shoulder, still on ice but labouring through it.

Wilson wouldn't comment on Bozak and his status, it looks like a shoulder injury, they have to see if and how much time he will miss. #Leafs

Wilson unsure of Bozak status. Team is right at roster limit so only IR stint would open up a spot for someone like Matthew Lombardi.

We will realize how much the team really needs him if he's out for a considerable amount of time. Time for our center depth to be tested. Need Grabo and Connolly to step up.

Well, we will see at least how much Bozak will be missed when he's out of the lineup.

Good news in this, either Connolly or Grabovski will get a fair shake at first line. Sorry about his shoulder but that first line has been needing some additional C talent for some time.

Was great while Lupul and Kessel were making the world go round but that's not happening as much and defensively...

You are so backwards it pains me physically here. I will really really miss his turning over the puck grovelling and sniffling saying sorry to Boston players after a late hit etc. He was pretty good at skating towards the net and potting some gifts oh, and touching the puck before Lupul and Kessel made real plays and scored.

Backwards? Sounds like somebody has it out for Bozak. We all know what he is and that's a depth centerman. However his faceoffs and icetime logged will be missed. You never know though. It could very well be addition by subtraction if guys like Grabo take advantage of the extra icetime. All I'm saying is that while he may not be great, you're selling Bozak real short.

Here get this, Grabovski made a nice play last game got an assist, he also had 2 goals the previous game... He is rewarded by playing with Frattin (who is learning and can't yet finish plays) and Kule who is cold as ice out there, to add insult to injury people here complain about the guy and he gets 15mins to Bozaks 21mins last game..

That makes sense right?

It's all about spreading out the offense. Lupul and Kessel usually have the puck on their line and the center is just there to do the job defensively and dish the puck occasionally. Grabo while I agree he deserves more icetime, has to deal with the linemates he has, and will never get as much icetime as the big 2. Bozak is also out there for the odd key faceoff which boosts up his icetime.

if lombardi is ready to return to the 3rd line it shouldn't hurt us too much

If there were no lineup changes during practice (before Bozak got hurt), I'd have to guess it will be like this tomorrow night:

Lupul - Connolly - Kessel
Frattin - Grabovski - Kulemin
MacArthur - Lombardi - Kadri
Boyce - Steckel - Crabb

Call me crazy but I'd like to see Boyce on that 3rd line and give Lombardi a game on the 4th line to get back into things. I just think the way Kadri has been playing with lots of jump, Lombo may not be able to keep up and Boyce has been playing some up-tempo hockey.

If Bozie is day-to-day though we wont be able to make any roster moves.

In that case, id expect to see Connolly jump to Kessel's line, and for Boyce to center Kadri and Macarthur

Desjardins estimates that about 40% of the game is captured by Corsi analysis.

if bozak is only day to day i'd send holzer back to the marlies and just roll the dice with 6 dmen for now. then lombardi could slot into the third line. otherwise i'd put boyce there.

lupul - connolly - kessel
kadri - grabovski - macarthur
kulemin - boyce - frattin
rosehill - steckel - crabb

Hope he's alright. Give Connolly top line and please try for more than 20 minutes.

why is nobody suggesting Grabovski filling in on the top line? Connolly has good chemistry with Kadri and Mac, and Grabovski is playing well, but on a line with 2 struggling players...

Lupul - Grabovski - Kessel
Kadri - Connolly - Mac
Frattin - Colborne - Kulemin

why not
