Hey guys, I am new to the forum, unfortunately old to NJ.com which I will not reveal my name for safety purposes
Grew up in NJ all my life, 27 years old to this day, played youth hockey for the NJDYHC until I was about 16, played HS Varsity hockey for 4 years.
Now that I don't play anymore for real, I have learned to appreciate the game a lot more each and season more and more.. until this season of course. Either way, I want hockey and I pray we get it.
I just got back from a business trip in Mississauga, Ontario, CA and got to watch a Midget Minor A game, the teams looked lopsided, with a final of 9-2 for the winners, not sure of the teams I know one was Clarkson, I forget the other. But wow how serious they take youth hockey up there makes me envious I did not grow up in those parts. In fact, if you are indigent or can't afford gear to start playing ice hockey in Canada, there is a 1-800 # sponsored by Cooper Tires to get kids gear... imagine that in the USA... LOL. Awesome!
I enjoy all types of hockey, but loved taking my 5 minute train ride to Newark for Devils games, lets all hope we can get that pleasure this year at one point. If the new proposal is denied (50-50 revenue shares) the players are idiots. I already have lost a lot of respect for a lot of them and just feel bad for the young guys.
I am looking for a jersey to replace my Red Parise, NHL shop is terrible, I have tried those cheap sites online but they never work and I don't trust them... so if anyone has any ideas where to get a nice green Daneyko or Stevens throw back let me know. I wouldn't mind one of those Black Kovy jerseys either, but of course NHL shop only sells Youth models.
I know its not a Devils jersey, but this is kinda close enough. Bought this on ebay last week. Just got here today. I am way too excited.
So awesome. I remember them practicing in South Mountain Arena I when I was in Arena II. Met Manon Rheaume in her prime, such a babe. I had a shirt and one of their official pucks at one time... no idea where it is now.
