Where do you like to go on Irving? I used to go to PPQ all the time when I lived over there. What's a teaway?

How do you write a research paper? I have never had to do this. I'm supposed to go to the library or something to find books, wtf?

Most of them are argumentative papers with sources provided. This I'm actually supposed to go out and find sources, this is exactly why I have avoided history courses. I find them boring and no thought is involved. =/

With history I just have the tendency to be like, well I have no idea on anything involving this subject this guy says it better and has gone to school far longer than I researching precisely this subject so why am I even trying to argue points with him.

Edit: But the paper writing isn't the problem it's finding the topic. I am supposed to submit my paper topic on tuesday after having been in the class for two weeks and having absolutely know knowledge on wtf I am supposed to choose for a topic. (this is my first upper division history course)

I ****ing love history, I majored in it, and I loved writing huge research papers. What course is it? I can probably help you at least find a topic.

And trying not to get off on a rant, but history kicks ass if you give it chance. What annoys most people most about history is that they either think it's memorizing facts and dates (which is what boring high school history classes usually are), or like you, they just don't bother looking into it because they feel it's something best left to the scholars.

Whatever your topic turns out to be, I guarantee you'll find multiple books containing conflicting viewpoints on the matter, and you'll get a better understanding of how history is mostly interpretation and argumentation, not simple memorization. There are usually multiple accounts of historical events, and different arguments for the causes and effects. And it's not something strictly for PhDs; I find myself calling ******** or disagreeing with professional historians all the time.

Plus, there are some truly incredible stories out there. A lot of people love to read fiction, but there's some absolutely crazy **** that really happened that gets ignored for some reason.

If everyone had a better understanding of modern history, I'd bet good money a lot more people would be more politically and culturally aware and the world wouldn't collectively be circling the toilet bowl right now. But that's just my opinion.

Chinese art history. I worded it poorly, I know it's not only memorizing and that you have to have some interpretations on things, the problem is because I don't know anything about it I have trouble formulating opinions on the subject.

Played Resident Evil 5 co-op with my dad the whole way through. He doesn't know who anyone was making the whole game alot funnier than it should have been.

Wesker: TWO VS TWO...SOUNDS FAIR
Dad: What the **** no it's not! You're some ******* matrix guy and she's a deformed spiderwoman while we just have guns!

Also his reaction to Wesker throwing missiles was hilarious.

I wish my dad were that cool.

Dad:"Still playing games after you left for college? Shouldn't you have a girlfriend?"

Hahahahaha that sucks. My dad usually is a pretty chill guy. We don't play many video games together though. Mostly it's watching movies, playing chess, hunting, fixing/building stuff, going to observatories/museums, star charting, and him laughing/making fun of my adventures with the fairer sex. This was a pretty out of the norm occasion. Though he had enough fun that he wants to play some other games Co-Op.

Oh and he's the ultimate source of help for school since he has a PhD in my major, so that's always awesome/useful.

One of two Pho shops (Loi's and some other place I don't know the name of). Both are between 20th and 25th Avenue. Loi's is some hole-in-the-wall pho shop, and the other one sells BBQ meat up front (big bowls of pho too).

Nothing. I've had Natalya and Park Sandara type most of my HFBoard comments in recent years.

Just got back from voting the presidential candidates, didn't really like any of them so I just voted for the gay one.

I've written my own name in on the ballot whenever I don't like any of the choices. I've unofficially ran for at least 10 different offices

can't make the new thread just yet. we have to reach 1000 first (or 1001 so there's 1000 replies, because KM is anal like that)

it's tradition.
