Any word on why Eakin was recalled? A little puzzling especially since Beagle is healthy now.

Reward for strong play, not wanting to play Beagle back to back. Guess it means Perreault isn't exactly 100% (or they just don't want to play him )

Yeah, but Beagle is still horrible. He's by far the worst player on our roster, and he's not exactly a physical presence.

I was actually joking. i am not in cbus. I was thinking it must suck to be a caps player tonight - new years eve and all. I wonder if they are bugging out right after the game.

After a big win last night and it NYE today, I expect the boys to have other things on their mind. If we win, great.

Apparently New Years is a big deal in Russia and everyone gets hammered. I just hope the Alexes didn't start celebrating early.

Disagree on the Beagle post above does his job.

I've wondered why Beagle made the roster above Bourque, Eakin, and Sjogren out of camp.

Sjogren especially. Bourque and Eakin are generally too small for 4th line duty. Sjogren has size. I doubt that he'd do worse than Beagle, while he has a higher upside.

his job is to do absolutely nothing? because thats the only thing he does well. no skill, no physical presence, no faceoff prowess, no PK ability, no fighting (other than getting mortal kombat-style fatality'd).

Sounds like the US.

I am sure all the single guys have plans for after the game. They may not celebrate early, but they are probably making plans to meet up with mit Svetlana.

How exactly is that different from the U.S.?

The Capitals keep playing on all the wrong nights, making me miss the games. Hopefully I'll catch some of this one before celebrating New Year's for Ovechkin and Semin.

The amount of drinking. I guess hammered may be too mild of a word.

He does have one of the better backhand shots on the team. Had a nice shot with it last night and I recall him scoring on it last year against Montreal.

Caps need more of this type of conduct towards their opponents. Very affective.
