Primary Target

Tomas Kaberle, the recently traded defenseman who last won a cup with the Bruins, has fallen mightily. He had an incredibly short, overpaid run with the Canes who somehow managed to pawn him off on Montreal. Can he resurface his talent again in Canada?

Red Hot Cat Of The Night

Brian Campbell, who has 6 points in his last 6 games.

I'll have to DVR this one and probably won't get to watch it till late tomorrow.

Never got to comment on last nights game. We were surrounded by Rangers fans last night(row 2 sec 133). We did our best to drown them out when they started cheering "Lets go Rangers". Clem let in some really bad goals.

As I told the Rangers fans sitting behind us, not trying to defend Kopecky but he was responding to getting a stick to the head that knocked his helmet off, can't really blame him. The ref should have tossed both of them but the cause of the incident was the Rangers.

Anyways, that's in the past and we really need 2 points tonight. These injuries I'm afraid are starting to catch up with us. We need some of our guys to come back very soon.

The Habs are struggling and even with our 6 replacement forwards I'm expecting our guys to win this one tonight.

GO PANTHERS!

Somebody mentioned (in HfBoard Panthers' section) that Panthers has a conditioning problem when playing back to back games. I had to check stats and they have had so far 4 back to back games and they have lost all of them (Buffalo game was OT loss).
Trend continues?

Panthers played willing to lose yesterday to win today. Can't lose today. Must win game and probably the most important game of the season

I did. I really think we do. We always look tired on back to back games.

I didn't see the game last night. Fortunately we can bounce back pretty quickly and forget it with a win tonight. I'm kinda surprised Tallon didn't make a move for someone. I'd love Olli back. He's found his game, always wanted to be here, and will take a backseat as far as any type of leadership is concerned. No idea what the price would be but we're one Stephen Weiss away from falling in the standings fast.

Happy New Year to all, but I'm expecting that to be the only good news in Pantherland tonight.

Coming off back-to-backs, Montreal is playing with more urgency and we are still playing pretty poorly. Some signs of brightness last night in the 2nd period but we're still not to where we were earlier in the season. I understand that injuries are depleting our lineup, but GOOD TEAMS get through it. We have not been playing well this month with only 3 wins in our last 9 games (all against teams we should be beating anyways).

I'm not expecting much tonight. Montreal will come out hungry especially after the way they lost in Tampa the other night. Price will most likely play a great game too. I know we're all trying to stay optimistic but with our play in recent weeks, it's really hard to expect something amazing from this group. We're falling back down to reality, and tonight I expect the same. 3-0 Montreal the final, combined with a Winnipeg win, well our SE lead falls to 2 points with WPG still having a game in hand.

From 9 points up to 2 in less than a month. Only Florida man, only Florida.

This is a huge game to win tonight and I think we'll have a good chance after the loss last night. The Habs are having a very disappointing season and the Panthers have to get that fire back and take advantage of their poor play. Nothing would make me happier than to see 15,000 Habs fans sitting on their hands while we demolish them. It has to be a similar game to against Toronto where everyone on the ice shows up. I unfortunately can't attend the game, but will be screaming from my buddy's couch.

LETS GO PANTHERS!!!

I know my outlook is glum, but it's hard after so many seasons of mediocrity to have such a great start to the season, only to fall right back down into mediocracy mid-season. I'm hoping the boys can pick up the slack but I'm not holding my breath.
