Good on them. People need to remember, they're still only kids.

Right? they could have done a lot worse. They didn't say anything negative about Canada or anything. Just some kids that didn't take the loss to heart.

If Canada lost to India 10-2 in the World Cricket Championship, I think we'd all have a hearty laugh too.

Yep it was very funny. The Ceach suspended them for that display. Not sure why. They were funny and even if they did rib on Canada I'd still laugh.

Boo to that suspension -- I think that's hilarious. It's not like they said or did anything inappropriate or controversial.

Also, as one of those people that finds watching Canada plaster smaller teams to be sort of... awkward to watch, it's sort of awesome to see them having some laughs over it.

You are correct they could have done a ton worse.
They had a laugh about getting pumped by one of the best hockey nations in the world.

If canadas soccer team got punked 8-0 by brazil and some players did the same thing... I would probably laugh my ass off

There are too many ****** things in life we all have to deal with.
Lighten up, and let the kids have some fun

Thought it was fairly harmless, but I guess the team officials might have looked at it differently. Denmark is being pommeled every game so maybe they just see it as another embarrassment for their programme.

I actually thought the guys were being really good sports based on what they've been going thru.

How was this even close to being suspension-worthy? It wasn't offensive in the least.

Wow.

I can understand a hard bag skate or something for them, but a suspension? I understand you have to act professional at this level, even as kids, but that's really pushing it.

I kinda understand why they suspended them, they are trying to build credibility and pride in the program.

On the other hand I felt really sorry for that team for getting crushed over and over and thought it was really inspirational that the kids chose to be positive and enjoy the experience.

We tend to forget that at its base this is entertainment, its just a game and these are kids.

That was hilarious. Really bummed out that they were suspended. I get where the coach is coming from, but let the kids have some fun. Yes, they're representing Danish hockey. They scored more goals against Canada than the Finns and Czechs combined, why not be happy? It shows they have a sense of humour as well. Don't crap all over their dream by kicking them out.

It was funny but I can understand the suspension. If you were working for a hockey program struggling to maintain respectability, you would suspend your players for behaving like that in front of the media. It's a good joke when they're talking to their friends, not when they're representing their country in front of the media.

It was all in good fun. Those who suspended them take themselves far too seriously

The Danes came to this tournament completely overmatched, only a fool would think they could seriously compete vs. Canada. So they threw their pride aside, and tried to add a little levity after a humiliating loss. Suspending them? What a ridiculous and heavy-handed punishment, not to mention a slap in the face to these kids.

Going a bit OT, the question always comes up about the WJC having 2 too many teams, and how the Denmark's and Latvia's of the world will inevitably get crushed. The way I see it, they get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete for their country vs. the best junior-aged players in the world. Who cares if they get thrashed? These nations aren't going to develop by being perpetually stuck in second division.

Agreed 100%. These kids certainly didn't seem to mind. Also I'd think it helps their programs attract better coaches & trainers from other countries to be in tournaments like this rather than relegated to whatever is the level below this.

I don't think even Brendan Shanahan could explain that suspension. Especially for the 3 guys in the back who just laughed at it.
