Only one natural center in the lineup (Goose)...maybe Adam but he's probably better at wing. God help us when Hecht gets Brochen again.
Yeah it certainly makes us thin at center, but I'd be up for trying pominville at center if need be. A line of Vanek-Pominville-Ryan would look pretty nice.

We won't lose once Roy is off the roster. In all seriousness, most fans would probably do this deal, but Buffalo management doesn't--in all likelihood, neither does Anaheim's. You touched on Buffalo's center issues and Miller is one of the faces of the franchise.
Swap Getzlaf in place of Ryan and this might be the start of a workable trade with the principles being Roy and Miller for Getzlaf and Hiller....then start working out the loose ends and balancing the books.

So where does Ryan Miller come into the trade talks in this deal? The principles to me seem to be Roy and Ryan which is a workable trade...but to throw in Mller and trade down our 1st round pick for Hiller would be foolish. This deal doesnt help the Sabres either.

On it's own it doesn't. I'd do this trade, then call up Los Angeles about Stoll, and I'd call the islanders about Nielsen. Both could probably be had for fairly cheap. Boyes for Stoll has been kicked around, and I think Nielsen could be had for a 2nd.

That pick is going nowhere. Assuming it is a top 3 pick I wouldnt even trade it straight up for weber/suter. Not that I think the pick will be alot better or anything, but an ELC producing at a usefull pace is extremely valuable to the DUcks.

I see the Boyes deal happening at the trade deadline but only if Buffalo adds. I think the Isles keep Frans.

There's no way the Ducks obtain a #1 goalie without sending Hiller the other way. (Unless you're referring to Hiller as the necessary salary dump) They simply cannot afford to have both on the books and there's no guarantee of being able to trade Hiller in a separate deal. That would kill them salary wise. Also, I don't see them trading their lottery pick.
If Bobby Ryan is in play, he should be wearing a Sabres jersey soon. He is the type of player we need and the pieces that would be needed to get him would be a good start to changing the identity of the Sabres.
If I remember previously, Ducks needed some speed and a dman.

I think a deal could be made around one of our glut of wingers not named Vanek n Kassian and our glut if dmen not named myers, McNabb, Regher. We have talent in the d ranks, young talent but if you want young then a guy like Stafford would need to go to you bc if cap. But if I'm Regier, Ryan would be my main target and no other GM would outbid me.

Ryan's good...Just not good enough to warrant this package. Sekera's been our 2nd best dman all year behind regehr. Ennis is part of the young core I want to see coming up. Take 1 out, leave one of them in. If we're trading both of them to the ducks and including one or two other pieces, getzlaf better be coming back. I'm ok with ditching stafford though.
What about Staff+Weber+Ennis for Ryan?
