Those upcoming back-to-back games against NSH or so absolutely critical.

I'm 3-0 in games that I've gone to. I'll keep trying to go to any avs game in socal. Maybe even the yotes games isn't that far away. I should get a road trip car thats better on gas (I think I'm getting 18 mpg at best) and one that I won't care about putting miles on.

We should get a lot of wins (hopefully) against the free falling Wild and Oilers.

I was thinking before the shootout started that I hope Hedgy scores because we don't really have anyone else

Certainly standings look good, but we have played much more than other teams. But yeah, it's starting to look good again!

RoR looked like our most dangerous player last night. That move he made for the tying goal was beast mode in full throttle. Varly with an excellent game too. Huge win!!

Also, Gali was back to being a pest again. Love his game when he's pissing the other team off.

If we play like we are right now we should be able to beat those two team quite easily, although im not completely sold that Minny is this bad, but Edmonton and Calgary should be easy wins.

They're in our division, so it dosen't matter if they're free falling, we'll lose to them anyway

you would think Calgary would be an easy win, but our record against them over the last year begs to differ.

The quicker you learn there are no easy wins, the better it will be for you psychologically when we lose them

Seriously, I never chalk any game up as an easy win anymore... it's a recipe for heartbreak. Plus, those are DIVISIONAL games man... I don't think we've won one of those in over a year. lol

Unfortunately, this is all too true!

The Avs are getting owned by the NW division. Until they break the hex, I see no reason to assume anything positive will come from those game.

Avs schedule is tough to start the January. The next game is on friday (long time off) some teams will probably jump ahead of the Avs in standings by friday, and then they play back to back against two tough teams, Hawks and Blues.

Avs might get rusty by friday to win at least one of those back to back games.

Not to be a Negative Nancy, Debbie Downer, Party Pooper Patty, or whatever, but 25 wins out of 41 is a win percentage that would currently be 3rd in the league. They could do it, but I don't think it's likely.

That's why it's better to think of it as 50 points in 41 games. Which is good for 8th in the League as far as P%.

It's also better to think of it as when it all comes down to it, this is a smaller sample size and all teams are capable of being better in a smaller sample size. Hell, over the past ten games, we've been working at an 80% point percentage. That's good for tops in the League. If we managed to get 95 points and make the playoffs, overall we would have worked at a 57.9 point percentage. Which would currently be good for 14th overall in the League.

I think this team is capable of, when it's all said and done, ending up 14th overall in point percentage.

Avs have had one of the tougher Strength of Schedules this far. We've played a lot of top teams.

The other divisions are tougher than ours. Stars, Phoenix, Sharks and Kings have to play each other a lot. Nashville have to win against Blues, Wings and Blackhawks quite a bit to make it in.

As long as we control our own destiny, I'm happy. Beat Oilers, Wild and Flames when we play them and then grind it out against everyone else.

Kind of a "ya I saved it, no big" type of gesture.

With the way we're playing now, it's doable. No one is flat out outplaying us out there, we're grinding out wins in tough matches and I love that. We got ourselves a good hockey team here.

Though with a young team, you always got a factor in some inconsistency.. I hope for the best.
